"So you told him...you were moving out..."

"Yes...it's the best thing right now." She mumbled as they toured the last apartment for the day.

It wasn't too far into the city; more central. There was two bedrooms; her opting to have the kids share one. It was small and quaint; she didn't need too big of an apartment.

"So what do you think?" The agent asked; smiling at her.

"I think it's great, I'll take it."

"Great! Let me just go get the paperwork from my car and we'll move forward." She smiled before leaving.

Her phone vibrated and she looked to see it was her mother.

"Hey ma."

"Hey honey...how are you?"

"I'm fine. What's up?"

"Listen I heard you and Colin were having problems."

"Heard or sucked it out of a family member?"

"Listen whatever he did: it can't be too bad. Just forgive him and move on."

"What? Ma, this...he cheated. You want me to forget that?"

"Oh honey, men...they're wanderers. It's what they do. He came back didn't he? Just...forgive him. Patch it up."

"Right...for my sake or for the sake of your bragging rights?"

"Honey."

"I have to go. I'll talk to you later." She hung up before rubbing her temple.

This was going to be interesting.

*********

"I don't think you should do this."

"I do."

"What can I do to make you stay?"

He's standing at the edge of the closet as she packs some of her things up. Her closet isn't nearly as big at the apartment but that's the least of her problems. He moves in slowly to stand in the front of her and she stops what she's doing to stare at him. He's giving her that look that might have made her melt into his arms if she wasn't set on this.

But look at him....he looks so sad. He looks so sincere.

"N-nothing." He reaches up and cups her face in his hand.

"Nothing?" He asks quietly.

"If you love me; you won't do that." She whispers. "If you love me, you'll let me do this."

He stares at her for a few moments and she puts her hand ontop of his. She relishes in the feel of his hand for a few seconds before moving it from her face and placing it at his side.

When she moves around him; she finds Knox standing in the middle of their room. His hair is all over the place and he's rubbing his eyes.

"What are you doing up bub?"she cooes; going to pick him up.

"Bad dream..." he mutters; nuzzling into her neck.

"It was just a dream. Let's go lay back down hm? I'll sit with you until you can fall back to sleep." She brushes the hair back from his face as she walks out and to his room.

***********
-a couple days later-

She's finally done packing and though it feels a bit foreign to be by herself; it's going to have to do. This is her decision and she's sticking with it for right now. But what does that make them? What is this for their relationship?

Colin has the kids back at the house; spending the night with him while she got the apartment set up. The fact that they are actually going to take turns with them for the time being is odd. She'll have them for most of the week until Thursday night and he'll take them then. She supposes since it's not football season then it'll work out. But they'll probably have to change tactic when football does start.

So she spends her time alone just wandering around her new space. Then she does something she'll probably regret: looking through pictures on her phone. Pictures of the kids, family...other things. But she sort of gets caught up as she looks at a video of them while she was pregnant with Knox.

"So this video is to show baby Kaep what he looked like in mommy's belly."

She looks up and glares a bit at the camera before going back to looking at the TV. She looks to be about eight months along and her stomach is huge. She looks looks a little rough as she sits there on the couch. He's right next to her; smiling softly at her despite her obvious attitude.

"Look at you; your large and in charge." He pokes her stomach and she glares at him again before watching TV again. "Hey, what's wrong?" Colin moves the camera closed to her and she pushes his hand away a little.

"Get the camera out of my face, Colin." She grumbles.

"And as you can see mommy is carrying an attitude the size of the world. Probably because you're expected to just practically walk out the womb soon." She folds her arms over her chest and bites her lip. She's trying not to giggle.

"What? Is that a smile? Mrs.Attitude for days is actually going to laugh. This is rare so we have to film as much as possible of this smile." He moves the camera closer and she can't help but to show a smile.

"You get on my nerves." She giggles.

"Everything gets on your nerves...puppies, rainbows, anything remotely cute or happy. You're just mean. I hope our kid isn't as mean as you. Just awful." He teases and she sticks her tongue out at him.

"Shut up."

"Alrigjt, give me a kiss and I'll forgive you. Come on."

"No." She pouts.

"Come on. You can do it. Just one kiss and I'll leave you alone." She pouts a little more before he leans down to give her a kiss.

"See? Was it so bad?"

"I hope the baby doesn't have your annoying tendencies." She snickers just before the video cuts

And she feels even more low right before she looks at the picture of them on their wedding day.

How happy they look.

Then she sits there for a few. Wondering where the happiness went.
