Morgan
-2 weeks later-
"How does it feel to be one year older?" She murmmures against his skin. Her lips are sort of pressed to his shoulder as she cuddles into his side.
"Doesn't feel any different."
"Not at all?"
"No. Just a birthday." His hand is sort of holding her leg; his thumb rubbing up and down.
"Well what if I said that I'd like to let you have a gift on your birthday."
"A gift? What kind of gift?"
"Well, given the circumstances; I was hoping you would be up to moving back into our room." He looks over at her.
"Really?" He asks quietly.
"Yes."
"No." She frowns. He sits up a bit and stares down at her.
"Why?"
"I don't want you to feel inclined to let me back because it's my birthday. That's not how it's supposed to go."
"You think I'm letting you back in because it's your birthday?" He nods, a frown on his face.
She closes her eyes and lays on her side, cuddling a bit into the blankets.
"So now you're going back to sleep on me?" His voice is light and accusing.
"No. I'm trying to think so that it can come out the right way. Give me a minute."
"Okay?" She thinks for a few minutes; her mind still strangely sleepy as she struggles for the words.
"You're all I want." She speaks up. "I don't want...to be angry anymore. I've done that for months now and though it's interesting at first, it's not that way anymore. It's not about the sex or the talking, it's about me and you becoming me and you again."
She peeks her eyes open to stare at him. Her hand goes up to touch his beard. She has no idea why she likes his facial hair so much; maybe it's something that comforts her.
"Come here..." he mumbles and pulls her up; grabbing her waist to lift her up and sit her down so she's straddling him. He stares at her for a moment before speaking up again. "I'm sorry I hurt you."
"Colin..."
"Just let me finish alright? Hear me out..." she nods slowly, waiting for him to finish. "I'm sorry I hurt you. I know it doesn't cover half of the things I put you through but I am. Seeing how upset you were...you didn't look like yourself. It killed me to know that I did that to you. It was all my fault and I betrayed you; I lost your trust."
"But you earned it back."
"What have I done to get it back? Besides what I'm supposed to do; what have I done baby? You're right it isn't about the sex or the talking...it's about what I need to do better."
"So, you don't want me to let you back in?" This was an itnteresting turn of events.
"No." He brushed a thumb against her cheek. "I love you so much but this is what we both need."
"Well can we still be separated but sneak into each other's rooms?" He laughed; kissing her cheek.
"Yeah, we can still do that." She smirked.
His phone rang and he groaned before reaching over to the nightstand and grabbing it and answering.
"Hello?" He listened for a moment. "Hey coach, what's up?" He listened again before frowning.
