A/N: 2016 introducing drama... ; )

Colin

"Why would you think someone is watching you?"

"I was sitting at the bar eating while I was waiting for you and I got a text." She started, taking her phone from her pocket and showing it to him. A picture of her from the back. "I don't know who took it or how they got my number. Then when I left I got another text asking where I was going.."

The number was unrecognizable; and when he tried to call there was no answer. He hung up and looked around.

"Alright, get in..."

"What's going to happen?"

"We're going home." He closed the trunk.

He walked her to the drivers side and opened the door for her; looking around as she got in. He moved over to his side and got in before they drove out of the parking garage and toward home.

"Be careful." She muttered as he unclipped his sling.

"I'm okay."

"Let me help you..." she helped lift his shirt up off of him carefully; being mindful of his face. "What did the doctor say?"

"Keep doing my exercises and to slowly start lifting again. I still have to be careful though...unfortunately."

"Can I see?" She asked quietly and he nodded. He grabbed her hand and helped her onto the bed before letting go.

It was a rather modest looking bandage but she could see some blood had seeped through. She pursed her lips before looking around and spotting his hospital bag across the room. She got down; moving over to look through it and get what she needed.

She moved back over to get on the bed and go behind him.

"What are you doing?"

"You bled through your bandage...I don't think that's good." She started to change it but something was on her mind. "What are we going to do?"

"I'll figure it out."

"Were you like this before I lost my memory? Not telling me anything?" He stayed quiet as she finished disinfecting and started to tape the new bandage.

"You always knew..."

She finished up and got up, throwing things away. She started to pick up the extra bandages but he grabbed her arm.

"Come here..." he pulled her into him; his arm wrapping around her waist.

"I'm in the dark about a lot of things Colin...don't add this to the list. I want to figure this out together." She mumbled into his shoulder.

"We will."

"Please be serious with me, that's all I'm asking."

"I am. I promise."

They get quiet for a few moments; her finding comfort in the way he held her to him. She wrapped an arm around his neck; careful that she didn't hurt him. She moved so her head was leaned into the side of his face; his facial hair tickling her nose a little.

"I'm sorry you're hurt."

"I'll be fine."

"That doesn't make me not want to worry."

"I know it doesn't."

They got ready for bed and she helped him lay down; his body sort of leaned against hers. She was nervous about sleeping in the bed with him when he was so fragile. Her doubts were settled though when she felt him pull her to him with his good arm.

"Did I ever get this scared before? Was I really tough?"

"I though about somethings while I was away..." he started, grabbing her hand and holding onto it. "We keep comparing you to yourself."

"Comparing me to myself?"

"Yes. We talk about how you were before; what you did and didn't do. Why are we warranting to have to be like something? Why can't you just be...you? You lost your memory but why do you have to just pick up the pieces immediately afterward? Why can't you figure out how to be a new you? Be who you feel you are instead of what other people expect you to be. You've always been someone who just does their own thing; it's what I fell in love with...I don't want to force you to be the other Morgan."

"Reinvention huh?" He shrugged one shoulder.

"If you want."

"So I could dye my hair pink and wear bright clothes and it would mean that I reinvented myself?" He gave her a certain look before fiddling with their intertwined hands.

"It's up to you." She smirked and kissed his chest.

"Nice to know. I'll make an appointment tomorrow." He stared at her before she giggled.

"Just kidding." He rolls his eyes a little before he gives in and laughs at her.

She can't resist him and she leans in to kiss him; the closeness overwhelming in the best way possible. It's interesting that the mere feeling of being with him has found its way into her heart. She feels so in place yet so distant and it's something that she has undeniably gotten use to. Like brushing your fingertips against someone else's but still not being close enough to hold their hand.

But why does this feeling feel more at home than the option of feeling it all at once?

*********

It feels like the air has new meaning.

Sure she's probably not supposed to be put here alone given the recent events but this is important. She needs to think. What better way to do that than to walk around while the sun is still in the process of coming up?

Everything feels in tune and overwhelming and she loves it. The streets are surprisingly quiet and serene; the sky is slowly changing colors and the music in her ears was soothing.

She found a hidden path behind a small group of trees. The wind was surprisingly blowing slow, given that the heat hadn't found the neighborhood yet. The trees were shaking and she took a little bit of time to snap a picture or two.

Her phone rang; and she was slightly surprised he was up given that he was asleep when she left.

"Colin-"

"Is Knox with you?" He rushed.

"No...why?"

"Come home. Come home right now. Do you hear me?"

"Colin what's going on?"

"Knox is missing."
