Colin
"What's wrong?" He stays frozen to his seat as a bunch of things flood his mind.
"She's waking up...her eyes are opening." And as if on cue he can feel her fingers squeeze his hand a little. "Hello, I'm nurse Kelly. Listen, your neck is very hurt and very swollen so don't try to talk." She warns gently.
He leans over a bit so he can see her eyes; but he's surprised to see that one eye is brown and another has changed into an off green. It's a bit scary and interesting at the same time. He has no idea what it means but he's excited to finally see her eyes open.
"If you can hear me, blink twice." He watched as her eyes opened and closed twice. "Good job. Blink twice if you know where you are." Her eyes stayed steady on the nurse and she nodded.
Another nurse came in but she sent her back out to go get the doctor.
"You're in the hospital. You were involved in a terrible incident. The doctor is on his way so just stay calm. Can you blink twice if you understood that?" She blinks and the nurse smiles softly.
"Good." The door opens again and he turns just in time to see Dr.Graham walk through the door.
"Good morning Colin."
"Good morning." He moves out of the way reluctantly to the end of the bed so he can watch.
"Good morning, my name is Dr.Graham. I'm going to look you over."
He started looking into her eyes with a flashlight before looking over the rest of her wounds. He ordered for another scan before he started to ask questions.
"Alright, I'm going to ask you some questions. I need you to blink twice for yes and once for no. Do you understand?" She blinked twice.
"Do you know your name?" He watched carefully and waited. She blinked once.
Part of him waited for a few seconds for the next blink but it never came. And that was the beginning of his downfall.
"Do you know how old you are?"
One blink.
"Do you know where you live?"
One blink.
The questions continued on but the further into it the doctor got; the more single blinks were received.
"Okay. There are nurses that are going to take you to get scans and bring you back. We'll figure out more things when you get back. Stay still."
He smiled at her before moving to his side. The male nurse fixes the wheels and they take her out of the room. He felt cold; like all the heat and blood left his body.
"I'm sorry Colin."
He stares at the man for a moment before slowly backing away. His feel start to carry him to the door and before he knows it he's moving out and down the hallway. Away from the room, away from the idea of losing the one thing that's kept him sane. Because if she doesn't remember herself, how could she ever remember him? Remember them? They've worked so hard to get back to normal and this is what happens?
He can faintly hear someone calling after him but he keeps walking. He let's his feet carry him all the way outside and to his car. When he gets in he has no sense of where he's going but he knows he has to get out.

"So you just left?"
"I just needed to clear my head." He muttered after pressing a kiss to Darlene's head. He hadn't let go of her since he very unexpectedly showed up at his parents house.
"Are we sure that she wasn't just blinking? That's not really an effective way to tell if she remembers or not."
"She answered all of the questions clear as day. She could have done something else to answer but she did that."
"So what are we supposed to do? We can't just leave her there..."
"I'm not leaving...I needed to be here for a moment to get myself straight. I needed to see my kids."
He moved to the living room with Darlene still cuddled to his chest. Knox was sitting on the couch watching TV but he thought it was time to say something.
"Knox could you put on your shoes? I think we should go outside and get some fresh air." He stared up at him for a moment before getting up and doing as he said. They went out and sat on the front step for a few minutes.
"I wanted to tell you that I understand why you're upset. If you don't want to talk then you don't have to because I'm not going to force you to if you're not ready." He moved his hair from his face. Knox moved into him; leaning his head into his side.
"No matter what happens from now on just know that me and mommy love you both."
"Where's mommy?" Darlene mumbled.
"She's still at the hospital. She's awake now but she can't talk because her neck is still hurt. She's...she's sick so she may have some trouble remembering who you are when she comes home. But I promise everything will be okay."
Though he was reluctant to tell them what was going on; he knew he couldn't hide it. Because Morgan would come home eventually and she wouldn't know who they were. He was their father; so he had to be strong for them and for Morgan. It was the only way they could get through.
Because as if things weren't already kind of crazy; why wouldn't something else be thrown in?
