Maya acted strange. She usually acts all tough and mean to me. Suddenly she seemed, like I could like her. Lucas, shut up, you're dating Riley. But I can't help it. She is pretty beautiful, and kinda cute when she's embarrassed. God, Lucas, you're crushing on your girlfriend's best friend. What's wrong with you? Then my other side of my brain kicks in. Lucas, she's so hot. Date Riley and Maya at the same time. I am so stupid. I walked into the classroom and Mr. Matthews walked over to my desk. "Lucas Friar, why are you late?" He frowned at me, and I get so embarrassed because everyone is watching me."Sorry sir, I won't ever do that again." I pretended that I was reading so that I wouldn't have to see the stares of everyone. Riley turns to me and whispers," You're not in trouble, my dad knows he can't do that." She smiles sweetly and turns around. I really like Riley, but I'm also starting to fall for Maya. I look at the clock and see that we still have more than an hour until class is over. God, I hate school. We learn about the Revolutionary War, and how it affected America. I raise my hand and say," We would probably still have British accents if we were still ruled by England, right?" Everyone turns to starter at me. What is everyone looking at? I hear Maya giggle, and I swear she came from heaven. She looks at me and smiles. "What are you looking at, Ranger Rick?" She looks at me, and I feel her blue eyes piercing through my soul. "N-nothing. Nothing m'am." I look at my textbook and wish that everything was the way it was a year ago.
