Lucas's P.O.V
I get into my truck and think about Maya. She seemed so heartbroken. Why would she still like me after everything I've done. I feel terrible. I drive to a restaurant and park. I get out of the truck and pull a rose out of my pocket. This will be my way to completely forget about Riley and Maya. I walk in and find Danielle sitting inside waiting for me.
"Lucas!" She says as she takes my arm and we walk there. I hand her the rose and smile.
"Aw, you're such a sweet guy." She says. I kiss her cheek and walk with her as the waiter leads us to our table.
We order our food and glasses of water. "Danielle, you look beautiful today as always." She blushes and quietly says thank you.
We chat a little bit and wait for our food. "So, what was up with those two girls? The ones at Sweet Treats?"
"Uh, nothing really." I nervously say. She looks incredulous but doesn't continue with it. We get our food and eat.

We stand in the parking lot. "Danielle, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." She smirks and pulls me towards her. She kisses me hard. I pull her closer and feel something vibrate in my pocket.
"Shit, uh, lemme get that. It's probably my mom or something."
I slide the answer button before looking at the caller ID. I hear a sob on the other end and Riley's voice saying "Maya, come on. You're over him aren't you?"
I get a sinking feeling in my stomach when I hear what Maya says.
"Lucas, I know I didn't show it when I saw you, or anything, but..." She stops to sob more. "Lucas, I don't even know if you're here. I love you, and hate that you're with that Danielle. Even though you're an asshole, I still like you, God. I love you." She ends it with a sob.
I try to say something, but she hangs up before I have the chance to.
Danielle frowns and says "Well... What'd your mom say?"
She raises an eyebrow and I say, "Nothing. It was nothing.
