Lucas's P.O.V
The next day, when Maya doesn't show up, I worry myself sick. She's responsible enough, hopefully, to make the right choices. Oh god, please tell me she won't do something stupid like a crime or something. I sit praying in chemistry when Mr. Hoffman calls on me. God help me. "Friar, answer my question." He sternly says. Wait, what was his question? Fuck fuck fuck-"SEE? THAT'S AN EXAMPLE OF A DAYDREAMING STUDENT!" Mr. Hoffman's booming voice shouts. I hear Charlie, Riley's ex that she never loved, snicker. "Hey asshole, you want some of this?" I stand up with my fists together when the chemistry teacher says, "OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH OR I'M HAVING YOU BOTH STAY AFTER SCHOOL!" I take a seat disappointedly and keep my head down for the rest of the day.

Surprisingly, at the end of the school day, Riley appears at my locker. "I need your help finding Maya."she confidently says. "Woah woah woah missy, calm down. Why would you ask for my help?" She's about to reply when her phone buzzes suddenly. She takes it out of her back pocket and stares at it. "Oh shit, Josh is coming over to our apartment, I better tell Maya. That better lure her back." She smiles while quickly typing on her phone. Damn, everyone has a better phone than me. I have one of the first androids and I can't even see emojiis on them. Riley flaunts her iPhone 6s and I'm here with my crappy phone. Maya has an iPhone 5s, which is still better than mine. Damn. I feel jealous while Riley goes on and on about her uncle Josh and how much Maya loves him. "Just shut up Riley, okay? I'll be at your apartment at seven." I'm about to kiss her when I realize we aren't together anymore. Another oh shit moment for me. I just do a lame 'good bye' and leave the school.
