Lucas's P.O.V
There's a knock on the front door. My mom screams for me. God, round two. I walk down with my cleanest blue shirt I could find and it's Maya at the door. Shit. I smell okay right? Fuck, what if I don't look good? I walk to the door and Maya says "Can we talk? Outside?" I follow her out and we walk into the gazebo, where I was last with Riley at. What a fucked up life I'm living. Maya locks eyes with me and says "I can't hide this anymore. How much I like you." I say "Maya-" "No! Fuckboy Friar I just, I like you so fucking much but I don't know how to say it! Like, shit, I'm such a bad friend for liking my best friend's ex. I mean, I can't fucking help it I just-" I grab her face and kiss her right then and there. She closes her eyes and I can hear the cool breeze blowing and can imagine her beautiful luscious blonde curls blowing in the wind. We pull apart and she says "Uh, wow." "Uh huh. Was it better than sex with little Josh?" Her face then turns red and she says "Don't fuck with me Fuckboy Friar. And he's not little- he's bigger than you." She flashes me the tiniest bit of a wink as she angrily walks out of the gazebo when I realize what she meant in sizes. I laugh to myself and think, God, her mood changed so damn quickly. I chase after her and say "Maya, will you go out with me?" She frowns and says "A rude ass like you?" She studies her fingernails and I hear her mutter to herself "God I need a manicure." She looks back up at me and I say "Maya Penelope Hart," she looks as if she just tasted something disgusting as I say the name 'Penelope' and I continue "Please just go out with me for fuck's sake?" She smiles and says "You've used the right language, so yes, I will go out with you." I grin and say "Pick you up at 7 tonight?" She flashes a smile, a real, genuine smile as she slips away. God, this day turned out a million times better than I thought it would go.
