Maya's P.O.V

I wake up next to Lucas Friar in only my bra and undies. "Oh my god, no..." I run my hands through my mussed hair and rise from the bed. Shit. This wasn't supposed to happen. I've betrayed my best friend, and I didn't even know it. What the hell happened? On the table next to the bed there's some beer bottles and a pack of Marlboros. That explains why I have a killer headache and smell like cigarette smoke.

Lucas is still sleeping away, so I sneak off to the bathroom and change into the clothes from the night before. God, I hope his mom wasn't home when we did all of this. Sex, cigarettes, and beer? Exactly what I wanted to stay away from.

Damn, is there anything to conceal the smell of smoke on me? I can't come home like this, and what am I going to do? Lie and say I was staying the night at Riley's? I've already betrayed her enough, what can one little white lie do? I walk back to Lucas's room to retrieve my phone from the nightstand when I see him out of bed, pondering about something.

"Lucas?" I softly say as I sit next to him.

He groans and says "Maya, I can't believe I did this. Damn it, why am I such a fuck up?" He seems to say the second part to himself.

"Lucas, you're nothing close to a fuck up. How have you fucked up so bad? Give me an example. See?" I say when he doesn't say anything. That's when he gives me a pained look. Oh shit. There's something going on.

"We can't be together... I'm sort of... God how do I say this without sounding like a stupid ass douche bag?" Oh my god. He's hiding something. He's still with that Danielle girl, isn't he?

"You're with Dani aren't you?" I say in a tone as if I know what I'm talking about.

He looks at me with a neutral expression on his face before his phone started ringing. I sneak a peek at it and see that it's Riley. Wait.. what the hell? "I gotta take this... it's my mom." He walks out and presses the phone to his ear.

Oh my god. He's lying to me... it's Riley, isn't it ?

As I run out of Lucas's house and call up an Uber, my mom texts me saying she's at the Matthews' house. Why the hell would she be at their place? I pace around waiting for the Uber. Lucas still hasn't seemed to notice I left, must be an important call with Riley.

I get to their house and walk in. Cory and Topanga are chatting with my mom at the counter with cups of coffee.

Topanga smiles when she sees me and says "Maya! There you are... Do you want something? A soda, a coffee, anything?"

I force a smile and say "No thanks I already ate." Even though I'm starving to death. "Oh and... is Riley here?"

She smiles and says "She's in her room honey. Go see her."

I slowly walk to her room feeling nervous. Will she be able to see that I had sex with Lucas, her (possible) boyfriend?

I walk in and see her at the bay window, tapping the screen on her phone firmly. "Riles, let's tell each other everything we've been keeping from each other. Let's do it." I say in a breathy voice as I sit on the bay window next to her, but still far enough so she can't see my hangover.

"Oh my god, Maya what happened last night?" She says in an alarmed voice when she takes in my shitty appearance.

"Uhh. I was with Lucas."

That's when, I can see it in her eyes, she falls apart. " I didn't get to tell you that Lucas and I were back together. That is, until your slutty ass had to get in bed with him, right? My boyfriend, you at least knew he was my ex! But you still had to do it right? "

"Riles , oh my god it wasn't like that we-"

"Oh.. what are you gonna say? 'Riles we just played board games in bed, we definitely didn't have sex!' But I'm tired of your lies Maya! He was my boyfriend first and I'm not giving him to a bitch like you!" The only thing I can hear in my mind is her screaming voice pulsing in my ear.

I'm breaking down now. "Riley I'm sorry! I never meant for this to happen... I-I never wanted to catch feelings for him.. it just sort of happened!"

She glares at me in disbelief and screams through tears, "They always say that! I'm done with you Maya, I just can't take any more heart break!"

"Then dump that douche Lucas!" I scream. My mom and Riley's parents are all watching since I forgot to shut the bedroom door, and even Shawn is here.

Riley looks at her parents and says "I can't take this."

"Wait-Riley am I a bad person?"

She stops and looks at me. "Of course you're not a bad person." I exhale as she walks up to me so it's only an inch between us, even though she's inches taller than me. "You're a bitch." She softly says as she walks out of the room, followed by her parents. Shawn and my mom walk to me.

"Are you okay? What the hell happened? " Shawn asks me as he and my mom try to comfort me.

"Am I okay? No. Am I a bad person? No. Am I a bitch? Yes." I climb out of the bay window without looking back.
