Riley's P.O.V
I wake up from a sad nap and think about everything that's happened. Maya had never ever had a long angry rant at me before, well, before today. I sigh and walk to my mirror. I look pretty much back to how I looked before the restaurant incident/fight with Maya. My hair looks like trash.
I throw my clothes onto the floor and turn the water on. I get into the shower and stand under the running water for like five minutes. When I realize that won't get me anywhere, I manage to shampoo my hair and use this new body wash thing I got. Should I shave? I think to myself. I guess so. I'm already ugly, I don't wanna be a hairy ugly person.
I get into my bathrobe and dress up. I can't wait for Halloween! And then in like November it's Shawn and Maya's mom's wedding! Everything is so exciting! But, why was Maya mad? I'm feeling really good right now.
I turn on some music on my phone and start dancing along to it in my bedroom with wet hair. That's when I hear a laugh. "What the-" I turn to the bay window and see Lucas sitting outside of it.
"Well, can I come in?" He says with a smile on his face.
I blush and say "Uh, yeah. Did you... you know... see that?"
He chuckles and says "The dancing? Yeeah." He walks towards me and smiles.
"I broke up with Danielle." Now he's only like an inch away from me. My next instinct is to back up, but I wanna see where this takes us.
"Yeah.." I try to say causally as I twirl the end of my hair.
He looks at me, as if waiting for me to say something else.
"But you love Maya, don't you? I don't wanna take her away from you."
His face collapses when I say that. "But... I thought-"
"Lucas, it doesn't matter what you thought. You thought wrong. Maybe, you should go get Maya. I realized that... we're better as... brother and sister."
His eyes look sad as he says "What if I don't think of us that way?"
"Then you better start thinking of us like that..."
"Riley,"
"I love you Lucas." I softly say. He steps closer to me.
"As a brother." He steps backwards and sadly climbs out of the bay window.
God, what'd I just do?
I sit on the end of my bed and ponder,
