Mia's PoV

Like any other school day I woke up and got ready by doing the same old things I used to do every morning; one hour was all I needed to get ready and leave home. Once I crossed the bridge in which I had met that frightening demon, I saw Heart leaning against a pillar with his hands in his jeans' pockets, the school bag's strap falling over his left shoulder and the coat of his uniform opened allowing to see his tie which was slightly loosen up and his shirt with the first button unbuttoned that made him look really eye-catching.

"For a spirit you got a lot of style dressed like that." joking I threw at him as soon as I got near.

"It is not the first time you see me like this." stopping leaning on the pillar he recalled smiling.

"I know. I just never had the time to tell you."

"Sure." he laughed. "Anyway with no further delays, good morning master." he greeted me which however made me frown.

"And here I thought you would stop calling me that." sighing I started walking.

"This is how things work." he affirmed with a serious expression walking side by side with me. "You are my master so I should address you as such."

Hearing him say that I stopped brusquely which surprised him and then with one of my hands on my waist and the other in front of his face I waved my index finger.

"No! No! No!" I started. "It's not master, it's friends. Understood?"

"Bu–" he tried to say before I interrupted him.

"F-R-I-E-N-D-S" spelling it out I exclaimed. "The word you're looking for is friends, are we clear?"

"Yes, master." he answered but the repetition of the word make me snap.

"Golden Heart, stop." I spoke with an authoritative voice.

The one who said words are more powerful than actions knew what was talking about because from that moment onwards Hear just stopped, he didn't move, he didn't speak, he just stopped just as if he were a statue. I got worried and wondered what had happened for him to act like that but because he respected me as his master I thought he might have had taken my words too seriously, so I approached him and spoke.

"Hey, I was joking... You can move, you know?" but Heart kept motionless and I found myself in a complicated situation until I remembered we should fight fire with fire. "Golden Heart, move." this time it actually worked and he moved returning to how he was before letting out a sigh of relieve.

"You are truly my master."

"What happened?" I asked ignoring the fact that he had called me master once again.

"Whenever the human say the spirit's full name, the spirit is obligated to obey the human's command." he explained. "Well, normally we already obey the human's command but when our full name is said we are bounded by the words and our body moves on their own. Just like a spell, I guess." he finished shrugging his shoulders.

"Spell? That's more like a curse!" I let out feeling a bit annoyed. "Furthermore, I never really understood why the human is the so called master, it's clear we're the weakest race." I admitted.

"But without you I could barely survive in this world."

"What about before?"

"Before?" he repeated rising one of his eyebrows.

"Yes, before when all of us inhabited the same world. You didn't need humans to survive!"

"It is true, yet it was a link made out of love, we cannot argue with that."
