Mia's PoV

Christmas holiday had ended and school had once again started.

People say that evil never sleeps but to me that wasn't really the case. My holiday had been really peaceful, that is if I crossed out Maya's appearance, everything had been quiet – too quiet actually – it was as the saying went: the calm before the storm.

"Miss Harrison, are you listening?" I was suddenly brought to reality by Mr. Carter's voice ringing in my ears.

"Yes!... No, I'm sorry." I let out with down cast eyes.

"I know up until yesterday you were on vacations but second term as already started, please pay attention, will you?"

"Yes. I'm sorry." I apologized once again and Mr. Carter proceeded with the lesson.

Not a minute later my eyes caught a small white piece of paper in the left corner of my desk. Unfolding it carefully I read its content.

Are you alright?

- G.Heart

Chuckling amused that Heart had picked up the old fashion way of passing around messages in class, I scribbled a reply before handing it back.

Another small paper made its way to my desk a few moments later and I unfolded it once again reading what Heart had written.

I will be here if you need me.

- G.Heart

And before I knew it, Heart and I were suddenly pulled into a message exchange in the middle of the lesson – something which proved to be quite fun and relaxing.

Once lunch time arrived Heart and I went towards the canteen for it was now too cold to go to the rooftop like we normally did. The canteen was a big place with two different sides where one could pick up the plate they liked best from the two dishes available on the menu that day, juice machines and even microwaves for those who brought their own food from home to be able to heat it up.

After choosing what to eat, Heart and I started to look for a place to sit when we spotted Reyen, Jude and Andrew.

"Can we sit here?" I asked facing Judy who showed me a big smile.

"What kind of question is that?"

"After all this time and she still things she has to ask. I'm hurt." Reyen let out with a fake gasp.

"I get it, I get it, mister melodramatic." I uttered placing my tray on the table on the opened seat next to Judy while Heart sat in front of me next to Reyen.

"I see you two love birds are getting along well as usual." Andrew commented as he ate a spoon full of soup.

"And you and Judy seem to be following our footsteps. Thank you for finding in me a role model to worship." Heart replied with a mocking grin which made me stop and look surprised at this new side of his, after all, every time Andrew or Judy made a remark of the sort he would always freeze up and become serious but now he was actually replying back.

"Ha! I see some improvements!" Judy exclaimed having noticed the same as me.

"He who said old dogs cannot learn new tricks clearly did not know what he was talking about."

"I don't know what's happening but I'm happy to see you all getting along so well." Reyen finally spoke with a smile.

"Indeed." I agreed. "I always find myself thinking how lucky I actually am for having friends such as you all. I didn't use to care much and mind my own things, but you guys, you make me happier than I thought I could be." I added with a smile and everyone stared at me. "What?"
