Before reading the new and last chapter I just want to apologize for the late update but I had some troubles which made it impossible for me to update earlier. I'm really sorry and thank you for reaching the end.

Mia's PoV
The morning rays came through the spots in the blinds slowly illuminating the room. Feeling the change in the light I opened my eyes and glanced at the clock. It was half past seven which meant I should have been awake half an hour ago.
Rising from my kingdom of covers I stretched my arms trying to eradicate the sleepiness from within me. As my eyes adjusted to the luminosity of the room my gaze fell on the calendar pinned to the wall next to my desk. It was still dark for me to be able to see clearly but even without seeing, I knew exactly what day it was: 17th of March. One year ago this day, I had last confronted the demons, Heart had disappeared and I had never seen him again.
Finally getting out of bed, and after opening the window, I walked towards my wardrobe to grab my uniform and head to the bathroom, however I couldn't help but let my gaze wander towards the blue dress Serenia had given me. That dress and the necklace which I always had on my bedside table, were the remains of my adventure and what remained me that everything did happen and it wasn't but a mere dream. Closing the wardrobe I finally headed to the bathroom to get ready.
At eight o'clock I was already going downstairs ready to go out. There was a knot in my stomach preventing me from eating breakfast but somehow I didn't feel hungry anyway.
"Good morning, Mia" a man's voice greeted me right before I opened the front door.
"Oh, good morning Nick." I greeted back with a smile.
"Leaving already? What about breakfast?"
"I'll eat something in school. Right now I'm not that hungry." I pointed out. "Say hi to mother for me." placing a kiss on Nick's cheek and wishing him a good day, I left home.
Nick was a co-worker of my mother and the one I had seen when arriving from my school trip last year. He had fallen deep for her and eventually won her over. As time went by mother decided it was time she started anew and I approved of it. I knew she loved my father very much and in no way this new love of her was to be a replacement for the old one. She deserved to be happy and Nick did make her a happy women. It had been two months since he had moved in with us and their wedding was already marked to June of next year and I was going to be their maid of honour.
Finally reaching the school gate I came across Reyen who greeted me with his usual, cheerful smile.
"Good morning miss president." bowing down in an exaggerated manner Reyen proclaimed to which I answered with a smile.
"Good morning mister vice-president."
Upon reaching the last year of high school, in order to get my mind of unwanted things, I had run for council president with Reyen by my side as vice. Reyen had told me about Jeremy's goal but since he no longer harboured such feelings of control he had thrown away his desire and was now in an after school activity instead – tennis club.
"Look! It's Mia and Reyen." I heard a girl exclaim to her friend.
"You're right, they look so cute together. They should just hurry up and become a couple." the other exclaimed giggling.
"It's always the same, no?" I commented walking forward.
"You're right, that's what I call spraying salt on the wound." Reyen let out with a sigh and I smiled.
