Mia's PoV
After sending Maya home I didn't even feel the need to rest and recover my strength as I would normally need after using such a big spell. I could still feel great amounts of energy in my body, pulsating through my veins. I took a deep breath in order to get rid of some of the tension due to the seriousness of the situation and turning on my heels, ran towards Heart that had sat up with the help of Reyen, who Shade had let go.
"How are you feeling?" I asked taking in his appearance.
Just like the vision Shade had showed me, Heart had a wound on his stomach but unlike the vision he was alive, just barely, but alive.
"Guardian." I heard Shade call and immediately turned to him assuming a defensive posture.
One good thing about this sacred guardian thing was that I knew I was capable of fighting them both and still be victorious.
"Calm yourself. I don't wish to fight."
"How do I know I can trust you?" I asked not letting my guard down despite being quite surprised by Shade's remark.
"You can't, but up to this point I've only been doing what my queen wished for." Shade admitted. "Same with Klaud. He has only been following my orders."
"Though in my case, I did enjoy what I was doing" he admitted with a sadistic smile.
"I'm a few days away from reaching 2100 years old and then I will be able to ascend to the throne of my kingdom... or what's left of it." Shade mentioned facing the distance where his world's castle had appeared.
As I looked to the scenery laid before my eyes, guilt started to fill me inside. All of this was my fault because I had allowed to be controlled and toyed with, now I had to make it right again.
"I will return to my people's side and calm them down." Shade continue facing me. "I won't ask for forgiveness but I do apologize for everything. I wasn't happy with a lot of things that were happening in my kingdom but we have our own rules we must follow."
"I accept your apologies but please, next time you need a stand in ruler don't take he or she by force. We've both seen how bad that can end." I pointed out and Shade nodded.
Despite not saying anything more out loud, Shade's eye hid a turmoil of emotions as if telling me I would make the right choice in the end.
Having said their goodbyes, Shade and Klaud disappeared in thin air, leaving only us behind.
"Heart you need to rest." turning back to him I said.
Heart had once told me how the necklace was full of energy which allowed the spirit to recover more quickly, however with the barrier broken, the energy from the demon and the spirit's world was flowing freely throughout the air aiding Heart with his recover.
"The bleeding has stopped and with the flow of energy I have started to recover." Heart said trying to smile but that didn't stop my worries.
"What about Jeremy?" I asked turning to Reyen, seeing as I could not spot him anywhere.
"He's behind that door." pointing to the door leading to inside the of building Reyen said. "I didn't want him to get caught up in the fight. He's resting."
"I see."
Adverting my gaze from them both I looked to the scenery below. I no longer could call it my home as the merging of the three worlds had created a scenery of a post-apocalyptic world. The big differences were without a doubt the appearances of the castles on the far off distance, but even so the rest didn't look any better. Houses on top of houses, trees that sprouted out of nowhere and had created a forest in the middle of the city taking with them buildings on their way with its roots, and lakes which had submerged downtown. All of this calamity had woken up the entire city and people started to gather outside. Some coming in contact with the new species, others helping out those who had been caught right in the middle of the chaos, but all of them facing what was now their new world.
