Mia's PoV

Weeks went by and before I noticed it was already February. After my counter attack against Klaud the attacks hadn't ceased at all, in fact everyday it felt as if another person fell victim to whoever was controlling all the students and the atmosphere in school had become quite tensed up. I was at the receiving end of implemented hatred and it wasn't a pretty thing.

"Hey, Mia!" Judy called behind me. "Going home for the day?"

"Yes, what about you?"

One good thing in the middle of all of this was the fact that Judy wasn't part of the group being controlled, but I always wondered for how long it would stay like that and the image of losing her made me extremely sad. Judy had become a very close friend of mine and because I really liked and cared for her, the fear of losing her was too big.

"Same. I'm gonna pick my cousin from kindergarten first though, he's spending the weekend with me."

"Ah, I'm sure he's a cute kid." I mentioned smiling.

"I wish! He's a total brat but then again, so was I when I was his age." laughing Judy said and I could see that despite her calling him a brat, that she quite liked him.

Saying goodbye to Judy I went my own way – towards the main gate to wait for Heart. Ever since the attacks had become daily, Heart refused to leave me alone. I understood his reason and concern and it wasn't like I minded having him by my side but sometimes I also needed some time alone.

"Yo! Waiting for Richard?" Reyen asked addressing me.

"Yeah, he was called by the teacher, again."

"He keeps going to the teacher's office." Reyen commented. "If I didn't know better I'd say someone was pulling some strings in order to keep him away from you."

Reyen's statement lit a light inside my brain, even if he had said what he did half joking, and suddenly a lot of things started to click.

"It can't be."

"Wait. If that's true then the one behind it has to be the same who's controlling everyone." Reyen stated.

He too knew what was happening seeing as he had once stumbled upon one of the attacks; they always seem to occur whenever I was by myself and end before Heart could get there, but that time, Reyen had actually witness the crime which apart from me – the target – had never happened before.

"Perhaps." trying to think of someone who fitted the job I muttered. "I'm definitely going to find out who that person is. I swear."

Reyen's PoV

Mia was standing in front of me thoughtful. I knew she was trying to pick up the pieces and find the culprit and I couldn't resist but what to help her.

"I'm sure we'll find out who it is, sooner or later." trying to reassure her and give some encouragement I said and she looked at me.

"But what if it's too late? What if by the time we find out who it is there is no longer the possibility of helping that person? What If the students being controlled won't be able to go back to what they used to be like?"

"Calm down." putting my hands on her shoulder and making her look at me I stared at her beautiful brown eyes. "We'll fix it, you and me together. No matter what happens I'll be by your side, I'll protect you!" and as I said those words I couldn't hold in the urge to kiss her troubled face and make all her worries go away, so, I started to come closer to her slowly as to not scare her but unfortunately it wasn't my lucky day for in that moment Richard came back and interrupted me.
