➳ light

I am the dim unfading light in the background, 

not exactly noticeable, but only existing 

a mere shadow in a sea of light

I, like the light, do not know how I got here 

all I know is that my presence seems to be 

ignored

no matter where I go 

it isn't anyone's fault

but mine 

in fact, it's not anyone's fault 

because it is not a fault

to be simply the result of a wish gone wrong

a wish that called to be overlooked 

because truthfully, neither I or you could stand it anymore 

and it doesn't matter what it is 

because we both know

we will all be forgotten 

and if it's happening now 

then I am already one step ahead
