Whenever someone asks,
I like to explain it this way:
There is a battle outside these doors
That has yet to be settled
Though the chaos is only a distraction for you,
A means of inconvenience
For you are swimming in a pool of well-concealed fear
And the war is distracting your cool facade
Minute by minute
The still water starts to ripple
And eventually, boil
Though you attempted to be blind to this ongoing feud
Your mind saw right through you
And made you drown because of fear
Your mind made you drown because you simply couldn't handle-
Being split in two
You couldn't handle hiding the boundless fire in you
And so you swam in delusion until you took it too far
Until you drowned, my dear
