To be fulfilled with yourself is an almost impossible feat
because it isn't exactly easy to love yourself when you live in a society
where flaws are pointed out and ridiculed
it isn't exactly easy to be satisfied with yourself
when your oddness causes you to be laughed at
it isn't exactly easy to be yourself now a days, and that isn't anyone's fault
but ours
Because we are the society
and the blame is on us
we pretend that everyone is accepted
that different means better
but it breaks my heart to see the acts of defiance against these claims
it devastates me to hear someone utter words of hypocrisy
words they swore would never leave their lips
but they do anyway
because they are not the victim
The victim understands though
they understand but they keep quite
and the bright light they used to posses grows dimmer and dimmer
with every word or eye roll their eccentricity receives
soon, they themselves join the sea of hypocrisy
they join the crowd they never thought they would
because, they conclude, it is much easier to be mediocre
and free
than odd
and condemned
