"I wouldn't mind if a car was to run over me at any moment."
At first, this statement is a joke
We laugh and agree
Complaining about the hardships of survival
In the back of our minds, we know it's the absolute truth
We pretend we are happy and carefree
Just like how any other teenager should be
But we both know what's going on inside our minds
Though we are too afraid to say it out loud
We both know the dangerous honesty behind our claims
Because after all, every joke holds some truth
We still hint and joke and survive
Not live, because that, is the opposite of what we want
There will come a day where we will acknowledge the thoughts shoved under
At least, I hope there will be
There will come a day when we stop and realize
The joke is our actuality, our reality
And it needs to be consigned to oblivion
Before it can destroy us even more
Because if this joke isn't forgotten soon
The car will be heading our way
