Chapter 21

Tobins POV

I hid behind a small cabinet in the corner of the room waiting anxiously for Alex to walk through those doors.

This could turn out really awesome or really poorly.

My plan was to wait until she comes in and shuts the door then pop out and grab her by the waist and hopefully scare the crap out of her.

But the only thing that could go wrong is she reacts poorly to it and ends up hurting me somehow.

I mean I've been in 2 fights so far this year and both of them left me at a pretty rocky point, but I mean, I'm a lot better, plus what's the worst she can do?

I sit there and wait for what feels like hours, but in reality I've only been there for about 15 or so minutes until finally I hear the keys jingle in the lock.

Alex left her door unlocked for me to come in when I got back from lunch but she told me to make sure as soon as I got in to lock the door behind me.

After a couple seconds of waiting, I finally hear the door open and close and I hear Alex sigh.

"Jeez Tobin, can't you seriously listen to me just for once." She says as she sighs. "First the thing with  Lucas and now I gotta find tobin, this is just great."

Wait. Who the hell is Lucas and what the hell did he do to Alex?

Wait. I still have to scare her!

Without really thinking, I come up from my hiding place while she was turned towards the widow and grab her from behind.

"HEY ALEX!" I yell and she screams.

"PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN YOU LITTLE KIDNAPPER I'LL CALL THE COPS ON YOU! TOBIN!" She screams as she does anything possible to get out of my grasp.

Holy shit. She just called me to save her! She relies  on me to protect her!

I cover her mouth and put her down gently shushing her so she's not screaming anymore. But I forgot to tell her it was me so she elbows me in the stomach and kicks me in the shin with the back of her foot. And let me tell you, that hurt like hell.

"Ouch! Holy shit Alex you can really defend yourself." I say as I fall to the ground holding my stomach and gasping for air.

"Tobin?!? What the hell?! Why would you do that!" She asks as she kneels down beside me and helps me up and onto her chair.

"Well, see, I wanted to scare you cause you weren't here when I got here and I was really bored. Plus I wanted to see your reaction but I didn't think you'd do that." I say as I start to regain my breath again.

"Sorry. I just thought you were someone else cause I didn't see you when I got in here and I thought you skipped school and went home or something, then when I turned and looked out the window I felt someone behind me and my first instincts were to kick the hell out of this person and scream for help." She says as she blushes.

"No need to be sorry. You're a good fighter so good that you can protect yourself. Also... You called for me.. Out of everyone, you chose me." I say as I look into her eyes.

"Well. Uh. Yeah... Like ever since the, uh, parking lot incident... You've like been there for me so like the first person that came to mind that could help me was you." She says and she turns even more red.

I never knew that she thought of me in a.. Sort of hero in a way. Like her savior if you think about it. I've always been known as the player, the badass, the evil person and stuff like that.

So to finally be known for something good, actually gave me a sense of relief in a way.

"Well I'm always here for you. You know that right?" I ask as I stand up and come close to her.

"And I'm always here for you." She says quietly as she stares up into my eyes.

I pull her in for a passionate kiss similar to the one we shared yesterday.

Her lips yet again feel so perfect, so soft, so delicate against mine and I can't help but pull her whole body closer to mine. Desperate to feel the comfort and happiness her body brings me when we're close.

She pulls away and looks into my eyes, searching for something, anything that could show her the way I'm feeling right now.

"Tobin, how do you make me feel the way I feel right now?" She asks in a quite voice.

She sounds so delicate, so fragile, and I just want to be there for her, I want to make her feel like she's the only girl in the world.

"I don't know, but maybe it's just my charm." I say as I smile and wink at her causing her to break out laughing.

"You just ruined the moment, I hope you know that." She says as she continues to laugh and pushes me back.

"We all know it's going to happen again, you know you can't resist me." I say as I smirk and sit down in the chair in front of her desk.

"Yeah yeah yeah. Don't remind me." She says as she smiles at me.

"Nope, that'll be brought up very often. And by the way, Me, Hope, and Ash were going to hang after school, and I was wondering if you wanna come with?" I ask.

Hope, Ash, and Alex get along pretty well. Alex knows that me and Hope go way back and she actually finds it kind of amusing how be pretty much act like sisters around eachother.

And Hope and Ash like Alex too. Hope says she's changed me for the better, and I'm actually starting to think that Hope is right about that. But Alex hasn't completely changed me... Yet.

"Yeah, sure. Can we just stop by my place so I can drop off some stuff?" She asks.

"Yeah, no Probs." I say as I relax in my chair.

Then one thought resurfaces my head.

Who is Lucas?

Time skip to after school

The bell has rung and me and Alex are on our way to her apartment.

Since I basically spend the whole day with her, she picks me up in the morning and drops me off before heading back to her apartment so I don't have to worry about driving my car everywhere.

We hop in her car and I quickly buckle up as she starts the car.

I should ask her now. I mean, we're alone, plus she's not doing any paperwork, so it shouldn't be a bad idea.

"Hey Alex?" I say to get her attention.

"Yes Tobin?" She asks and she can see the hint of concern in my face. "What's going on?" She asks as she starts the drive to her apartment.

"Who's Lucas and what did he do to you?" I ask and I can immediately see her tense up.

Now I really wanna know who Lucas is.

Authors note- hey guys! I know this update was later than normal but I had to finish up my speech plus I had to take family pictures today but at least I still managed to get a chapter out. Also, sorry for the cliffhanger :)
