Chapter 54

Tobins POV
Today was finally the day that I personally, have been waiting for... for years now.

It's been 4 years since I've graduated, I went to a community college for 2 years and now work as a police officer for the Basking Ridge Police Department, while Alex still has her Vice Principal job at the high school.

Alex and I both had ups and downs during our relationship. One minute we'd be yelling and screaming at each other, and the next we'd be cuddling on the couch telling each other how much we loved one another.

We still haven't moved in together yet, we decided that we should wait maybe a couple more months until we were both ready to take that huge step, though I was ready, I didn't want to pressure her into anything so I agreed.

Today, was the day that I was going to finally make Alex my fiancé... that is as long as she says yes.

I told her to dress in something that would keep her warm in this hot summer weather, and that I'd pick her up at 1.

I was dressed in some white cargo shorts, with a blue button up with turtles on it, and some brown sandals along with a SnapBack.

I grabbed my keys, wallet, the ring, and a pair of sunglasses, texting Alex that I was on my way now, and started my drive to her apartment.

I arrived at exactly 1 o'clock, giving myself a pat on the back for actually being exactly on time for once.

I walk into her room without knocking seeing her on the couch texting away on her phone and she jumped in surprise when she saw me.

"Tobin! Don't scare me like that!" She says giggling turning off her phone sliding it into her back pocket and walking up to me throwing her arms around my shoulders and leaning in for a kiss.

I place my hands on her hip leaning in and meeting her half way kissing her slow but passionately.

We stand in the middle of her room, just making out and I realize that if we don't get going soon, things are going to get heated.

I pull back but she bites my bottom lip as I'm doing so knowing that I'd get turned on.

I groan in pleasure getting turned on but this isn't enough to make me forget what I wanted to do.

"Let's go before I take you right now and forget about our date." I whisper into her ear, biting her earlobe as I pull away causing her to whimper.

I grab her hand smiling as I pull her outside to my car, opening the passenger door for her waiting until she got in then closing it behind her and getting in on the drivers side.

"Where are we going at this lovely time of day." Alex says giggling and I shake my head chuckling.

"We, are heading down to Belmar Beach to spend a few hours down there and enjoy the beautiful weather." I say and Alex's face lights up in joy.

"Yes! I've always wanted to go to the boardwalk!" Alex says in excitement.

Truth is, the boardwalk is going to be very special after today.

After the one hour drive to Belmar Beach, we finally arrive parking the car about a good 3 minute walk away from the water.

I grab the bag that holds the sunscreen, towels, and snacks closing the trunk and grabbing Alex's hand leading her to the shore and setting our stuff down.
