Chapter 29

*the picture of the apartment room is my imagination of the living area of Kelleys apartment*

Tobins POV

Right now, we were on our way to Ashlyn's apartment complex.

I was talking to her yesterday and she was telling me about this one girl named Kelley.

She said that she helped her take some boxes up to her new apartment which was just a floor higher than Ashlyn's.

I immediately remember Alex's story and how there was her best friend named Kelley.

I remember Alex telling me that they haven't spoken ever since she left Kelleys house to get a new start at life.

I asked Ashlyn to ask Kelley if she knew Alex and I don't know if luck was on my side or what, but that was Alex's best friend.

Ashlyn's POV *flashback of that moment*

I was texting Tobin when I saw this girl struggling a little bit to get boxes up to her new apartment in guessing.

She looked about 23 or 24, she had long brown hair, brown eyes, and freckles.

"Hey do you need help?" I ask running up to her and grabbing the box that was about to fall.

"Oh my goodness! Thank you so much!" She says thankfully as I take the box in both hands and follow her to the elevators.

" My room is on the third floor, that was the last box so you can just follow me." She says as the elevator dings.

I follow her to her room and I place the box next to the others wiping my sweaty hand on my cargo shorts.

"I'm Kelley by the way." She says smiling extending her hand.

"Ashlyn." I say smiling back at her.

I feel my phone vibrate and I saw that Tobin was calling me.

"Excuse me really quick." I say walking outside her door and pressing accept.

"Hey tobs how was the first part of your date?" I ask.

"It was good, Hope made some adjustments but it looks way better." She says chuckling.

"So you're waiting for Alex I'm guessing?"

"Yeah, she's in the shower. What are you up to? And is the house set up?" She asks.

"I'm helping a girl named Kelley with some boxes. And yes the house is set up." I say and I hear her gasp.

"Ash, um this may sound strange, but ask Kelley if she knows a girl named Alex." She says and without questioning her I go back inside to ask Kelley.

"Hey Kelley, I know we just met, but do you know someone named Alex?" I ask and her eyes go wide.

"Uh, yeah, but we haven't talked in years. She was like my best friend. Why?" She asked and I start to connect the dots.

"Was her name Alex Morgan?" I ask and she slowly nods.

"Yeah, she knows Alex, now what's up?" I ask and Tobin tells me to give the phone to Kelley.
