Chapter 46

Tobins POV
Once we get into the car, I sit Alex in the seat next to me buckling her up and letting her lean her head on my shoulder and I wrap my arms around her.

The car is filled with an awkward silence, nobody knowing what to say after the incident that just occurred.

After a couple minutes, I look down at Alex and see her sleeping and I sigh kissing her head.

Perry looks back at us through the mirror and smiles.

"Before we left, you were pretty nice to that guy." Perry said and I chuckle shaking my head.

"You have no idea how much I wanted to snap him in half. Nobody touches my girl. I don't even know why I said that to him, but trust me, now that I think about it, next time I see him around Alex, I'm gonna beat his ass." I say feeling the anger boil in my body again.

"You said it cause you knew Alex was watching. You knew she was already scared so I guess you just tried to make him seem like a better guy who could change I guess." She says shrugging.

"Per you don't understand tho! He fucking sent her into a panic attack and I didn't know what the hell to do about it. What if she wakes up in the middle of the night from now on worried about him coming to hurt her. I swear to god, if I see him again-" I start but Perry cuts me off.

"You'll kill him. I know." She says and I laugh.

"Smart ass." I say and we both laugh.

This is probably what I miss the most about always being with my sister. She always knew how to cheer me up in the worst of situations.

"So... When are you gonna put a ring on it?" Perry asks and I gasp in shock.

"Where's this coming from?" I ask blushing bright red.

"Well, for starters, it's kinda in this sisterly bond ya know. Like I can tell when my baby sister is happy, and I can tell she makes you happy tobs. You love her and I think that you guys were meant to be." Perry says and I smile looking at the sleeping beauty in my arms.

"I guess. I mean of course I love her, with all my heart in fact. She's changed me and when I lost her, my whole world crumbled and that was probably one of the worst pains I have ever felt in my life. But I don't wanna rush into anything. And let's talk about this once we get home, I don't want her to wake up and over hear this." I say and Perry chuckles nodding her head.

Soon, we arrive back at the house and I carefully get out of the car picking Alex up bridal style and taking her inside the house.

Perry leads me to one of the spare bedrooms that have some of my stuff in it and closes the door behind her leaving me and a sleeping Alex.

I take a shirt and a pair of basketball shorts from the dresser for Alex.

I walk back over to the bed taking off her converse and skinny jeans replacing them with a pair of my shorts and take off her crop top putting on the Nike t-shirt.

Once she's dressed, I pull back the covers laying her on one of the pillows and tucking her in before kissing her forehead then heading back downstairs to talk to Perry for a little.

I see her in the kitchen sipping on a beer and I grab on from the fridge opening it and sitting down on top of the counter top.

"You really wanna be drinking right now? It's 4am and you guys are heading back to Diamond Bar later on." Perry says and I sigh putting the beer down and grabbing a can of ginger ale.
