Another request from skywalkers_gal! This is my first Draco X Reader, so don't judge too harshly, and hope you like it! This follows the Half-Blood Prince.
Guide:
(Y/N): Your Name
There he was. Your best friend for the last 5 years, Draco Malfoy, was just walking by with his head bowed low, his platinum blond hair swept off to one side giving him a sort of authoritative air. You tried to wave and get his attention, but no, he kept walking by, his pace quickening until he was sure you were out of his sight.
"Draco..." you whispered to yourself, biting your lip as you tried not to cry. It's been going on for several months now, and as much as you wished for it to just be a temporary thing, it wasn't. He's spending less time now with his buddies, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, and is further isolating himself until he suddenly became invisible to a lot of people except you, some of your other friends in Slytherin, and--surprisingly--Harry Potter from Gryffindor.
Silently, you made your way to the dungeons, and you entered the Slytherin common room and dashed to the door of your dormitory without a second glance at your friend Pansy Parkinson, who was lounging around talking with Gregory about their courses and catching up with homework. You ducked away in hopes that they didn't notice you...
"Hey (Y/N)!" Pansy called out, waving to you.
You glanced at her sadly upon hearing her name. "Hey, Pansy," you said wearily, feeling tears smart behind your eyes. "Uh, what's going on?"
"We're just finishing an assignment for Slughorn," Gregory answered, and you nodded. With Slughorn taking over Snape's job as the new Potions master, you personally couldn't help but admit that his classes were much more enjoyable. And Slughorn is a likable teacher, really. But then that meant Snape was teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts...and even those were starting to become a bit boring, even though Snape did manage to get to the practical side of using magic unlike Umbridge last year.
You nodded as you faced them, one hand already on the door. "That's great."
"Wanna join?" Pansy asked.
"No thanks," you refused, shaking your head, praying that the tears wouldn't flow in front of your friends. "I, uh...I'm really kinda tired right now. I better rest up before Herbology."
The two friends nodded and turned back to their homework, while you dashed up to your dormitory, locked the door, and began to cry, collapsing on your bed. What was going on with Draco this year that made him so distant? And to think that for the last 2 years you were falling for him hard! What isn't to like about him, anyway, other than the snide comments he made against Harry and his friends? He's probably the most handsome boy you've ever met in Slytherin, someone who grew from a childish boy with class to a very strikingly beautiful teenager who's more quiet and reserved. He emitted such a powerful aura that whenever it made most people cower, it made you admire him more.
Who knows how long it would take for him to see that?
Just as you were wiping your tears on the sleeve of your robes, there came a knock on the door, followed by a shout.
"(Y/N) you better open that door right now or else I'm going to blast it down!"
You nodded silently as you got off the bed, opening the door to reveal Pansy.
"Is everything--"
Before Pansy could finish her question, you shook your head and began to cry again, hugging Pansy so tight you felt guilty for not making her breathe. But she was still able to intake oxygen as she rubbed a hand on your back.
