Another request from SolosSister, and since Christmas is coming HECK WHY NOT? :) This is an episode from Goblet of Fire. What if Cedric didn't ask Cho to the Yule Ball?

"(Y/N)!"

You turned around to see Hannah Abbott, one of your best friends in your house, run up to you the moment you turned around and left shortly after Professor Sprout gave a lesson about the Yule Ball waltzing and the like. A wane smile flickered on your lips as you waved, and allowed her to catch up so that you both could head to Charms together.

"Hey Hannah," you greeted her. "So, Yule Ball, huh? Must be really exciting."

"I KNOW!" Hannah cheered. "And oh, to waltz in the arms of a very handsome guy! How amazing that would be!"

You blushed slightly and laughed at her strange antics. Of course, the Yule Ball isn't just about dancing with guys, but it's a tradition during the Triwizard Tournament to bring everyone together fro the different schools and bring a sense of unity through fair play. Sort of like an Olympics. And your only hope was that one of the Hogwarts champions, Cedric Diggory, did not ask you out.

Not that he's bad in any sense. But rumour had it that he's a player, that he's literally the object of desire for every single girl who had ever been with him, only to have their hearts broken because he ended up choosing just one girl above the rest of them. And you didn't want to end up in that line of girls who eventually cry for mercy. No. You just wanted to go with anyone but him, have a good time with anyone but him, and that was that

"Yeah," you shrugged, turning the corner and entering your Charms classroom to see Professor Flitwick already busily preparing for the class ahead. "And to experience Christmas at Hogwarts too. It would be amazing."

"Hey guys," you heard Justin Finch-Fletchley greet you, and you waved back.

"Hi Justin," you smiled. "What's up?"

"Not much," he shrugged. "Just a question for Hannah, if you'll excuse me for a moment."

"Of course," you nodded, turning back to the blackboard, only to have Hannah squeal moments later right beside you.

"YES! YES OF COURSE!" she cried, hugging Justin so tightly he looked like a fish gasping for air.

"AIR!" Justin gasped, and she let go.

"Sorry," she giggled. "But of course I'll go to the Ball with you."

Justin grinned and kissed her cheek. "Alright. That's good."

As the two of them eventually settled back down, you smiled at them, obviously happy that they're going together, but at the same time you felt your heart twinge. When would someone ask you?

Charms class soon came to an end after an hour and a half, and soon you found yourself traipsing back to the Hufflepuff common room with Justin and Hannah, only to find Diggory being pestered by millions upon millions of other Hufflepuff girls begging him to ask them to the Yule Ball.

"No, guys, stop," he was saying, waving them off. "Guys. Enough! There's only one girl I want to ask, okay? And--will you stop pestering me?!"

Your eyes widened slightly, but then narrowed again in disgust. Here we go again, Cedric Diggory trying to play modestly at the huge crowd of girls pleading for his company at the Yule Ball only to be eventually ditched. What's the point, anyway? You never wanted to fall victim to him. And you tried to prevent yourself, but this year somehow, his golden locks and well-sculpted face stood out to you a lot more than usual.
