First Tom Riddle X Reader story for y'all. I don't know if anyone requested this but if you did, well...be lucky I did, I guess.

Oh, by the way, for everyone who entered the story contest to celebrate 100K reads: I'm still waiting on ONE MORE ENTRY and then I'll grade. Overall I got 3 (adding the one to wait for I'll have 4) and so the placements would be given accordingly hopefully within the next two weeks. I'm sorry to have everyone waiting!

Anyway. Here you all go with an original Tom Riddle X Reader!

A low sigh slowly emitted from  your lips as you glanced at the large hourglass at the front of the classroom, your quill raised slightly above the parchment that was your Defense Against the Dark Arts exam paper. All around you, you noticed students scratching their heads, the quick scribbling sounds of their quills scratching out a horrid response or further outlining a concept, and once in a while a sigh would pierce the silence. Your eyes were not on your paper anymore, but just flitting about the room at the students bent low over their own...and then they lingered at the person in front of you, his back hunched and his dark hair tousled as he furiously scribbled his answer on his paper.

Of course. Somehow, the professors made you sit right behind no one other than the Head Boy of Hogwarts himself, Tom Riddle. You shook your head slightly as you bowed your own head, trying to stop yourself from scrunching your nose in almost pure disgust. Why wouldn't you, anyway? He was one of those students who worked so hard to gain the teachers' praise, who had somehow rose above the ranks to become more than just the Slytherin favourite. But behind the scenes, he was working so closely with dark magic. He claimed to be working with the defences against dark magic, experimenting the boundaries...but only you knew the truth. How did you figure it out? Well, that would another story to tell.

"Alright, students! There are only five minutes left!"

The sound of your professor giving the final warning made you sigh as you returned back to your paper. Defense Against the Dark Arts was one of your favourite and most proficient subjects, but somehow you couldn't find yourself focusing on your paper as much anymore. Your attention had been completely diverted, and there was no getting your mind back into the paper. Nonetheless, you were still able to finish up the final question of your examination in a trance, and just as you were rolling up the scroll the professor clapped his hands and collected all the papers with a simple "Accio!"

"Thank you!" he also called out. "Good luck on the rest of your exams!"

Immediately, you sighed in relief as you packed your things, shouldered your bag, and headed out into the corridors. The bright light from the summer sun outside streamed into the hall, casting a wonderful glow on the stone floors beneath your feet. You felt a smile grow on your face before you felt someone brush harshly against your shoulder, and you jumped as you saw Tom Riddle shove past you, walking with a quick urgency in his step that made you frown immediately.

"I wonder what he's up to," you wondered to yourself as you quickly followed him. It wasn't that you were stalking him; for a while you have heard rumours about the Head Boy of the school, especially those about him actually using his talents to expand his knowledge on dark magic. Most people would laugh at these theories, but these were actually hard to ignore--at least, to you. You weren't particularly close with Tom, but you did know him on neutral terms. To have him waste his talents on such a thing, though...

It wasn't long before you saw him enter a girl's bathroom on the first floor of the castle, and you followed suit in intrigue, interested as to why he would be in a girl's bathroom when there was clearly a boy's one not too far away.
