Today we have lost one of the greatest actors in the Harry Potter series.
Alan Rickman, aged 69, had passed away due to cancer. His loss has greatly impacted not only his family, but many Potterheads alike. And I am one of them.
Though I only knew Alan Rickman for playing Severus Snape throughout the Harry Potter saga, there's already lots about him that I can see. For one, he's more than just the complicated Potions Master that we recognize anywhere. He was encouraging young talent, especially among the stars of the show--Daniel, Rupert, and Emma. He's got some amazing talent, and he's made such a great impact in the film industry. Honestly if it weren't for him, we wouldn't even think of how the Harry Potter films would ever come to be so successful.
Richard Griffiths, who played Uncle Vernon, died a few years past. And now, as Luna Lovegood would put it, "The sky has lost a star". Or shall I just say, another one.
Funny enough, I'm tearing up as I write this. But allow me. Snape has been a pivotal character, and Rickman did a great job at it too.
But he would forever live on in the films that we watch, in the books that we read.
Rest in peace, Alan Rickman. Tonight, we Potterheads raise our wands in your honour.

I have an Albus Potter X Reader original story in the works right now revolving around this event, somewhat. So stay tuned! It would be up hopefully in the next two days.
