I'm not planning on making this an X Reader story at all, but we'll settle for an Albus Potter X Reader for this one. Just heard the news today and I'm deeply saddened by the loss of a great actor. Anyway, without further ado...

AND ENJOY THE ABOVE FILM where Snape glorifies the amazing-ness of Potions...

"Albus Severus Potter. You were named for two Headmasters of Hogwarts. One was a Slytherin and probably the bravest man I've ever met."

The words of his father, Harry Potter, echoed in young Albus's mind as he slipped into the deserted corridors of Hogwarts, having just escaped from the Slytherin dungeons at night with his father's invisibility cloak on, in full uniform. Normally he wouldn't dare go out after hours, after everyone has gone to bed. Getting caught would mean detention, or at least some points docked off. But somehow tonight he wasn't feeling comfortable. He had to move around, or else the terror within him would consume him and he would probably go insane.

Slowly he looked around at the faintly lit torches around the corridors, offering him a soft orange glow for him to keep going. He had no idea where he was going to go. Call it aimless wandering if you will, but tonight...it just didn't seem right to be in bed like all the other students right now.

As he turned a corner, he heard...sobbing. Somebody was outside weeping.

Albus bit his lip. Dare he go and find out who it was? Perhaps it was someone like him, who couldn't seem to find solace in sleep tonight...peering out into the night, he finally made out a figure; a girl crouched over a tombstone, not too far from where he stood in the corridor, her back to him and her (H/C) hair floating gently in the slight night breeze, also in full uniform. Of course, Albus recognized you. You were in his year, in Gryffindor--the twin sister of Scorpius Malfoy, yet not in Slytherin at all. Something in him told him to go over to you and ask what was going on. But another part of him told him to move on. To this internal fight, Albus stepped away from the window to think.

In the meanwhile, all you felt was the cold night air gently caress your face and sweep your hair away from your eyes as you stared at the tombstone in front of you, without any idea what to expect from it. Would a simple stare bring back someone super important from the dead? Would it revive the old memories you used to cherish, and live out many more in the future? A tear slid out of your eye as you glanced at the name engraved on the wearing stone surface; Severus Snape.

Ironic, how a Gryffindor would be mourning for a previous Slytherin Head. But you have seen and heard many stories about him. And once upon a time, he was your father's mentor. And he did some great things back in the past. Complex and strange things, but yet great things too.

"Lovely night, isn't it, (Y/N)?"

You jumped as you heard a boy's voice speak out. Turning around, you were greeted with only the sight of the well-lit castle and the moving grass against the breeze, but no person.

Slowly, you straightened up and smoothed your hair. "Who's there?"

The air rippled two feet away from you, and your eyes alighted to see Albus Severus Potter remove his invisibility cloak, his green-blue eyes looking right at you as he straightened his hair.

"What are you doing here?!" you hissed.

Albus shrugged. "Couldn't sleep. You?"

You sighed. "I...yeah. Me neither." Biting your lip, you turned your head away from Albus's gaze and looked at the tombstone. "I couldn't stop thinking about...what Scorpius and my dad said about him...and I just wondered...well..."

"Who--oh." A closer look told Albus that you were looking at the tomb of Severus Snape, and he nodded bitterly.

"Most people say Severus Snape was a traitor to an old headmaster, Albus Dumbledore," you whispered. "They said he wasn't fit to have been a professor at all, Snape. Most of the people I talk with...they hated him. Many Gryffindors...they couldn't stand him. But back home, with Scorpius and mum and dad, they loved him. Well, dad mostly. But that's natural. They're all in Slytherin, they understood him. And my granddad was a Death Eater, so naturally they all respected him back then. But me? I don't even know who to believe, Albus."
