Stings (Scorpius)

So someone asked me for a Scorpius Malfoy X Reader, and I don't remember who off the top of my head right now. But hope you like this nonetheless. Taking an idea from Care of Magical Creatures to write this. And in this one, you're in Gryffindor in fourth year.

"What in the name of--"

"HOLY!"

"DUCK!"

You felt someone pull on your wrist, and you didn't resist as you crouched obediently behind a huge metal plate, narrowly avoiding a blast of flame from the Blast-Ended Skrewt. Yes, you had to study these for Care of Magical Creatures this year, and right now what turned out to be a class learning about them has suddenly turned into wreaking havoc.

"Thanks," you murmured, turning around to see...a boy with pale blond hair and a handsome smirk, his Slytherin robes wrapped tight around him. You flinched and wrenched your hand away from his. Of course you'd recognize that boy--the one who would always get on your nerves.

Scorpius beamed, though you took that simply for a tip-off. "No problem, (Y/N)."

"Hey, watch it!" you heard Professor Hagrid shout above, and you yelped as you looked behind to see the Skrewt raise his tail and aim his flames at you. Instantly you got up and fled to your classmates, reaching your best friend Albus just as you saw Scorpius whip out his wand. But before he could cast a spell, the Skrewt's tail scratched his arm and he roared in pain, clutching onto it, his wand dropping onto the floor.

All the Slytherins screamed. You, in the meanwhile, glared at the Blast-Ended Skrewt and was about to cast a spell when Hagrid ran in, subduing it.

"Whoa whoa!" he cried, his hands raised as he grabbed the tail and thrust it back in its cage. "Alright. Is everyone okay?"

"Someone help me!" Scorpius groaned, his hand closed around his arm as he grimaced.

You rolled your eyes and glanced at Albus, your friend. "Idiot he is," you muttered to him, and Albus nodded in agreement.

Hagrid, in the meanwhile, scooped the boy up and carried him in his arms. "Alright, it's the hospital wing for yeh," he said. As he carried him up to the castle, he shouted, "Class dismissed!"

As you all trudged out of the Forbidden Forest, you caught sight of Rose Weasley trying to catch up with you, and you held back with Albus as she ran to you, panting.

"Some kind of idiot Scorpius is," Rose cried. "Trying to cast a spell on a creature that probably meant no harm! He should have left it to the professionals."

"Professional, Hagrid?" Albus laughed. "He didn't even step in when (Y/N) was about to be toasted."

"Yeah," you murmured, recalling Scorpius's actions, the pressure on your wrist returning. "He saved my life. I was about to be spiked if he didn't pull me down."

Just this sudden realization made you smile against your will, your lips tugging upwards at the corners. Meanwhile, Albus and Rose shared a look.

"Ooh. Is (Y/N) falling for a Malfoy?" Rose teased.

"Oh, stop teasing her," Albus scolded her somewhat, though he too was trying to suppress a grin. "Not all Malfoys are bad."

"And yet this one is quite the troublemaker!"

"Yeah, so? My dad knew his dad and they were always butting heads back in their days here!"

"So? That's the same with my parents! And he called my mom a Mudblood!"

"Oh can you two please be quiet?" you finally asked them, turning back with a smile on your face. "Love has no boundaries. Scorpius may be annoying, but if he didn't save my life back there I wouldn't even be with the both of you. He's..."
