A Birthday Wish (Cedric)

Let's see how we'll do with yet another Cedric imagine, requested by maraudermayhem. Her birthday is coming up soon, so why not go and wish her a happy birthday?

"Up up up, birthday girl!" 

Barely had you woken up from sleep than you felt a rather large yet light package land on you with a quiet THUMP, instantly making you bolt out of bed to see your friend laughing.

"Oh my goodness, Carol," you said, slightly annoyed but yet unable to keep the annoyance up for very long. "Did you really have to wake me up like this?"

Carol nodded, no doubt amused. "Come on, (Y/N). Besides, how else was I able to rub it into you that I just got you your favourite--"

"No way. YOU GOT ME CHOCOLATE FROGS?!" You almost squealed as you ran over to Carol, hugging her tightly and knocking her to the ground. "Thank you thank you thank you!"

"You're welcome, (Y/N)! Now get off of me!" Carol laughed, and you both scrambled off the ground quickly, getting changed into your robes and heading off to breakfast.

"Such a great day we're having eh?" 

You turned around the instance you got into the Great Hall to see a Hufflepuff student in your year, Cedric, greet you with his typical charming smile.

"Oh. Hey Cedric," you waved, a faint flutter rippling through your system at the sight of your friend and crush. "Uh, what's up?"

"I'll save you a seat," you heard Carol whisper, and you nodded as you let her go, watching her walk to your house's table and take a seat on the benches.

Cedric smiled faintly at Carol before he turned back to you. "It's...your birthday right?"

"How did you know?"

"I had my ways," Cedric simply said, pulling out from nowhere a bouquet of assorted colourful flowers. "Happy birthday, (Y/N)."

A wry smile played upon your lips as you gingerly took the bouquet and sniffed it delicately, the sweet intoxicating aroma fusing together to create a wonderful everlasting scent, memorable forever in your young mind. "Wow. Thanks, Cedric."

"No problem. Hey, if you're not too busy tonight, you don't mind if I take you out for a bit?" Cedric asked quietly.

"What do you mean?" you asked.

Cedric sighed, lifting a hand to his hair and running it through. "Uh, I mean, I...I do have something planned for you. But I need you there so you can see it. It's another...surprise."

"A surprise? But--"

"Please, (Y/N)?" 

It was almost hard to ignore his pleading eyes. Oh, what were you talking about? Of course it was hard to ignore his pleading eyes! Your smile just widened even further as you nodded. "Yeah, of course!"

"Perfect. I'll see you at 7:30, right here," Cedric told you now as he left your side. All you could feel as you headed over to Carol was light giddiness, the smile never leaving your face.

"(Y/N)? What just happened?" Carol asked as you took your seat beside her.

You just shook your head as you gave her what could be the most vague answer in history of answers.
