Luke stared down at Ashton one last time befor deciding he was sleeping deep enough and leaving the room. He pulled his black jacket on and left the house.
He figured Ashton will sleep for about four or five hours and that if he wanted to go outside, this was his chance.
He knew he was deep in the mess now, growing attached to an a half human - half immortal boy. A part of him regreted letting himself get attach because in this world, you can't have close ones. If someone will come after Ashton, Luke will most likely protect him and that's exactly what he didn't want to. He should have stop it the second he felt a twich in his heart.
He reached the place he wanted to and walk into the house without knocking.
"Luke." Rey walked down the stairs to greet him.
"We need to talk Rey." Luke shoved his fists in the pockets of his jacket.
"About?" Rey crossed his arms over his chest.
"There are a few rumors lately," Luke walked closer, "That immortals might be exist again."
"Oh yeah?"
"I thought I can trust you."
"I didn't say a thing about your human boy-"
"Its just you and me to know Rey,"
"Its still not me."
"Did you tell someone about him?"
"No." Rey lied and Luke sighed, feeling his heart quicken.
"Who did you tell?"
"I didn't-"
Luke cut him off by speeding and standing right infront of him now, holding his throat in one of his palms and squeezed.
"I'm not in the mood for this."
"Luke I swear-"
"I can tell you're lying, spare me the torture."
"Okay, okay.." Rey coughed out.
Luke put less pressure and Rey took in a breathe, he looked into Luke's blue eyes and fear crept into his body because he knew what Luke was capable of. Despite the fact that they both enjoyed eachother's body sometimes, Rey knew who Luke was.
"I told a friend. He blackmailed me-"
"Who is he?"
"His name is Liam Payne, he came one day and-" Luke stopped him from continuing by putting more pressure and squeezing his throat again. Somehow it brought relief to Luke because he knew Liam was looking for Ashton's best as well and he could feel Rey was telling the truth.
"Someone else?"
"No." Rey whispered and shoke his head.
Luke let him go and he fell to the floor. Luke thought for a few moments on what he should do. It didn't took him long to decide and he kneeled infront of Rey, watching as he panted hard and his hands rubbed his throat.
"I guess this is goodbye."
"What?" Rey frowned.
"I'm sorry Rey, but you told even though-"
"Luke stop, the guy said he wants to protect him-"
"Doesn't matter." Luke placed his palm on Rey's chest, making Rey grab his wrist in attempt to stop him put Luke was stronger then him and it didn't took him long to rip out his heart and cause him death.
Moments later, Rey laid on the floor with a puddle of blood around him and Luke washed his hands from the blood.
He walked outside and back to his house.
He killed Rey in order to protect someone else.
He never thought that will be a reason to kill for him, that he will kill in order to protect someone that's not him.
He walked into his house and shut the door after him.
"Luke?" He heard Ashton from the living room and a moment later, Ashton approached him.
"I'm going to get caught." Ashton announced.
"What are you talking about?" Luke frowned.
"I saw it on the TV." Ashton walked back to the living room and Luke followed him.
They both stood infront of the TV and stared.
"They talked about immortals. And how its possible that there are a few left." Ashton's voice was laced with worry and disturb as he spoke.
"No one knows about you." Luke muttered as he kept his gaze on the TV.
"They will find out. They started searching-"
"Don't worry about it."
Ashton felt like he was talking to a blank page because all Luke did was reassure things that Ashton didn't quite believe.
"They won't just kill me, right?"
"If they'll catch you, probably not."
"I don't want to be used or tortured or experienced or-"
"Ashton." Luke smiled and pulled him closer.
"Like I said, no one knows about you." Luke leaned down and connect their lips. He pulled away to take off his jacket and then Ashton saw the blood on his shirt.
"Are you hurt?" Ashton's eyes widened and Luke looked down at the stain.
"No."
"Are you.. have you hurted someone else?" Ashton asked slowly.
"Yes." Luke sighed when he saw the distance in Ashton's eyes and he fought the urge to roll his eyes because he honestly thought Ashton was over reacting.
"Is he dead?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because he made a mistake."
"What a mistake?" Ashton took a few steps back and sat on the couch.
"He angered me."
Ashton opened his mouth but nothing came out. His big eyes filled with grief and sadness and at that moment, he looked a lot younger.
His eyes only reminded Luke how young he really was and how much he has to learn.
"He's in a better place now, does this comforts you?"
Ashton just stared at him and then down to his hands as he shoke his head lightly.
"Don't look like that." Luke rolled his eyes.
"I didn't think.. I never imagined you killing others."
"That's the only way to survive around here."
"What if I'll anger you one day?" Ashton raised his gaze back to look at him.
"You angered me the second I met you. And yet here you are, alive and safe."
