Going to sleep wasn't an easy thing anymore for Ashton. He was always worried he will kill himself in his sleep now that his father tried controling him, and his mind was full of thoughts, stopping him from sinking easily into a slumber. In the dreams Caius he mostly had to fight not to kill himself because he never saw Caius in those dreams, all he had to do was fight not to kill himself.
He had a long day, and it helped him sinking into sleep easily tonight.
By the time the morning came, he opened one eye to peek at the window and considered to get up and close the curtaines but then he felt a weight on his back and he knew Luke wouldn't let him.
Ashton shoved his head more into the pillow when the sun raised more and blinded his closed eyes even more.
"Were you a brave boy in the shell, Ashton?" Luke asked when he found Ashton's scar again and let his fingers absorve it.
"Not really." He mumbled.
"So what did you do to get you that scar?"
"I told the guard to leave me alone."
"And?"
"And I used aggressiveness." Ashton confessed in another whisper into the pillow.
"And then he wanted to teach you a lesson." Luke spoke, remembering the day he first saw the scar and the things Ashton mumbled about it.
"Yes."
"It sounds like you were brave,"
"What did he use?" He asked when Ashton shifted a bit.
After that Ashton turned and laid on his back, now facing Luke and looking at him through sleepy eyes and messy curls that fell on his forehead.
"I don't remember. Maybe a knife."
"You don't remember?"
"No."
"What do you remember?"
"Planty of things."
"Liam was good to you back there?"
"Yes. And now its making sense how he always knew when to show up and save my ass."
"You look nothing alike."
"Why would we?"
"Because you share the same genes."
"I'm glad we're not alike."
"You have a thing or two to learn from him."
As Luke said that, Ashton turned to glare at him.
"Or not." Luke smiled and Ashton shoke his head.
"The party is tomorrow."
"What?"
"Yeah,"
"Its been a week already?"
"Time pass by quickly."
"Is Liam going to be there?"
"Yes."
"And Caius." Ashton sighed
"A real family reunion."
"Not my family." Ashton looked at him and Luke chuckled.
Luke let his fingers trail down on Ashton's pale stomach, still amazed by the fact Ashton just healed and no mark was left on his skin. Ever since Ashton had a dagger in his heart but stayed alive thanks to Luke's blood, Luke put his own blood in the water Ashton was drinking so incase something will happen and someone will get to Ashton befor Luke could.
Luke himself could feel the tension outside and Ashton wasn't strong enough to be an immortal yet, he could still die by almost anything that can kill a human.
"Maybe we shouldn't go."
"Don't start Ashton."
"You'll try to kill him, drawn fire and we're all going to get caught and tortured."
"That won't happen."
"What if he is bringing friends?"
"Look, all you have to do is stay close and everything will be under control."
"But he's leaving me alone, why do we have to bring it up again?" Ashton whispered.
"He's leaving you so you won't stay on guard. In some point he will try again."
"I think we should cut your hair so you'de look decent enough for the party." Luke joked.
"Your hair is long too."
"But he's not messy and curly like yours. You can't just wear a beanie or people will really have a reason to stare at you."
"I'll handle it somehow."
"Of course you will, because that's what stubborn boys do."
"Stubborn is good."
"I can't disagree on that." Luke smiled.
