There stood Teriaj, hands in his coat pockets.
"Hello, Laehal," he said as Laehal stopped in front of him.
"Hey Teriaj."
"You look like you're in a hurry."
Laehal avoided eye contact by looking behind him.
"Is someone chasing you?"
Seeing no one, Laehal looked at Teriaj. "I'm sort of going through a...family crisis."
"Ah. Run away from home, then?"
"Not really...," Laehal said under his breath.
"It wasn't your home, was it," Teriaj said flatly. It was more of a statement than a question.
Laehal eyed Teriaj suspiciously.
He knows, said the female voice that had led Laehal to his old home.
"What?!" Laehal spouted loudly. He tensed up.
"I work for her," Teriaj said with a shrug.
Laehal spat. "What?!"
Teriaj works for me.
"What she says is the truth."
Laehal was very confused and surprised. "You...can hear the voice too?"
I'm not just a voice, Laehal. I am the wind. I am the earth. I am the rain, and the fire. I am the stars and the stones, the clouds and the mud. I am life and death at the same time, time and space. I am Mother Nature.
"M...Mother Nature...?"
"And I am but a living piece of Mother Nature's body. I have come to do the work that needs a physical form."
"B-but why are you here, conversing with me?"
The truth was calling to you, and I wished to give it a voice. You were born to a family of people much like Teriaj, except they were forever in body form.
Laehal was suddenly angry. "Then why did you kill them?" he yelled.
Teriaj also grew angry. "Have you ever heard of fate?"
Teriaj, you should heed your own words. You have a fate, as does everyone else. Some lives cross paths once, and are never crossed again. I cannot change the course of a path, only place paths in the Web of Fate. You know this, so why would you ask me to do such?
Laehal, you have psychological powers that will, if practiced, aid in the formation of the Web of Fate. These powers are essential at this moment. You, are a Spinner.
Teriaj's glare softened, and he kneeled before Laehal. "Oh Spinner, if I may ask you a favour."
But Laehal was confused. "What's a Spinner?"
Hush, a human draws near, a human which has the potential to destroy the Web of Fate.
The voice went silent, and Teriaj whispered "Run!" Then he disappeared around the school.
Laehal ran like a cheetah. This Web of Fate sounded like a fairly important thing, and he wanted to learn more. If he had something to do with the Web of Fate, he would have to stay safe. Maybe the human approaching wanted to kill him?
Laehal ran as fast as he could. Every once in a while he would see a flash of red, or an arrow made of floating leaves. Mother Nature wanted to help him.
A faint voice could be heard: "Laehal, where the hell are you?"
It was Shayel.
Laehal stopped running for a second. Shayel? She was the one that could destroy the Web of Fate?
Run, Laehal! Your hesitation puts the fate of the world in danger!
"But Shayel..."
She is too dangerous. Run!
"But..."
Laehal, trust me. Shayel had deceived everyone, even you. You cannot trust her.
"Mother Nature, I can't just stop trusting her!"
"Laehal? Is that you? Boy, you're going to get it when I catch you!"
Laehal knew that Shayel would indeed give 'it' to him, so he continued to run.
