Hey guys!
Sorry I missed like three weeks.......
[cricket noises]
*cough cough*
Anywhoop.....
I just haven't had very much motivation lately sooooo
Yeah.
Last time we watched the video that Sever's friends made. Fate was also mentioned...
This time we're back in the Fate's Palace with Teriaj, Laehal, and Mother Nature.
XX
Laehal woke up slowly, long after the reds and yellows of the sunrise were shining brightly. He awoke to a natural light, and the ceiling of the Fate's Palace looming above him. He stretched, then sat up to see Teriaj standing by the other door—the door that led to the room where Laehal would begin his Spinner training.
"Are you ready?" asked Teriaj, eyes glinting.
"I-I think so...but I'm pretty hungry."
Teriaj mumbled to himself. "There is no food here, at least not at the moment. You will have to wait."
Leahal made a small sighing noise, then stood up and walked over to where Teriaj stood.
"So...I'm going to learn to become Spinner."
"Yes," Teriaj confirmed. "Exciting, isn't it?"
"Meh," Laehal joked with a grin on his face. "Let's get to it then."
Teriaj led the way into the room. It was a huge room, even bigger than the Origin room and the main hall. In it there were five stations: the Spinning, the Writing, the Weaving, the Watching, and the Cutting.
Teriaj led Laehal to the Spinning station, where there were baskets of something like wool next to a spinning wheel. Teriaj gestured to the wool.
"This is what you will spin the souls out of. The wool is full of traits, but you do not know which traits go into each soul, so you needn't worry about picking the right ones. I can't show you how it works, because I've never learned how to use it. You'll just have to trust your instincts. It's in your blood, you know."
Laehal looked blankly at Teriaj.
"Go on, give it a try."
"You mean you want me to spin a soul? Right now?"
Teriaj laughed. "No, silly. This is a regular spinning wheel. It uses real wool and spins non-magical thread, but the Spinning Wheel in the Cavern works the same way as this one. It's best you master making thread before trying to spin a soul into existence."
Laehal sat in front of the spinning wheel, confused. "But I don't know where to start."
"Hmm," Teriaj mumbled as he bent down beside Laehal to examine the spinning wheel. "I suppose," he said slowly, fingering the soft wool, "you should start with the wool. Trust your gut, you will catch on quickly once you start."
So Laehal grabbed some wool and put it to a piece of yarn that had already been spun—by the last Spinner taught how to use the spinning wheel—and his hands did the work like he had done it before. And this was mostly because he had—in a goddess's body—once upon a time.
Teriaj grinned as Laehal got more and more comfortable with each passing second and rotation of the wheel. Laehal grinned as he spun the wool. He thought it would be hard, but he had caught on quickly, and in no time he had an entire bundle of thread.
"Do you see?" Laehal asked excitedly. "I did it—my first try!"
Teriaj smiled. "I knew you had it in you, Laehal!"
Aww, I knew I did something right when I made you Laehal's Watcher, Teriaj. You two get along so well!
Teriaj blushed.
Laehal, on the other hand, held up the bundle of thread to the roof, saying "See Mother Nature? I did it!"
Yes, you did Laehal. And I am very proud of you. You trusted your instincts, just as Teriaj instructed you to. And I trust that you will do well in the Cavern with your other brothers and sisters.
Laehal's stomach grumbled. "Now can we find something to eat?"
Teriaj and Mother Nature laughed. "Of course."
