Though Sever had called Pomrey and she had been on his side, he was still worried that Shayel would find out that he was deceiving her. He paced around his tiny house for a minute or two longer, biting his nails, before he picked up the phone to call one of his other friends.
The phone rang twice before Tressle picked it up.
"Y'ello?"
"Tressle, I need your help," said Sever worriedly.
"What's wrong, friend?"
"A certain client has lost a child and she wants my help finding him...," Sever trailed off, hoping Tressle would catch what he was saying. Unfortunately, he was not as bright as Pomrey.
"Who this time?"
"It's Shayel, Tressle."
Tressle whistled loudly into the phone. "My, my, my. I never, in any of my days, would have thought she'd ever need your help again. What's she looking for from you this time?"
"The boy she took as her own found his old house and my address a day or two ago, and I told him the truth. He was taken aback, and he must have run from home, and now Shayel's looking for him. But the truth is, I don't want him to have to go back to her. There's something about him...something that makes me feel like he's supposed to do something important in his life. Something he can't do with Shayel always breathing down his back."
"Is this really Sever?" Tressle sounded confused.
"Yes," Sever said, a hint of irritation in his voice.
Tressle grunted. "Alright. Did you tell the big Pomrey yet?"
"As a matter of fact, I called her first. She agreed to help me."
"What's she doing for you?"
"She's getting times for the busses leaving for Saskatchewan. We agreed that we'd find out that Laehal had run to go to a different province to get away from Shayel."
Tressle whistled again. "I thought you said you weren't helping her?"
"We're not." Sever ran a hand over his face. "Laehal didn't really go on a bus to Saskatchewan."
"Well how do you know?"
"Shayel was too overprotective for him to learn how to use the city busses. He wouldn't know how."
"Then where'd he go?"
Sever groaned inwardly. "I don't know. I'm assuming he went to his old house, but I can't be sure. I know he's still in the city. He wouldn't just run off into the city on his own. He'd always had Shayel right there."
"Well," Tressle said, then sighed, "what do you need me to do?"
"I need you to get me some footage of the bus stops--contact Pomrey for the right one--and edit it so it looks like Laehal went on one. I'll get Rease to map out our path through the town he lands in."
"Alright." Tressle then hung up the phone.
Sever sighed and sat down, then held his head in his hands. He was very worried that Shayel would find him out. Though he was glad she had agreed to go home and wait for his call.
He was also worried about Laehal being all alone in the city. He wasn't sure if Laehal knew how to take care of himself, since Shayel was always doing everything for him. Did he know how or where to get himself food and water? Sever wished he could help Laehal, but he had no way of knowing where he had gone. As long as he didn't make a big mistake by taking a bus to Saskatchewan, he should be safe from Shayel. That is, if she believes the plan Sever had thought up.
