At the same time Laehal was figuring out the temple, Sever was trying to think of a way to keep Shayel off of Laehal's path.

Sever set his mouth in a straight line. "Alright, Shayel. I'll help you. But I'm going to need to contact some of my buddies, the ones who have access to records and cameras. It might take a bit, and I doubt you'd want to stay here while I make those calls, so why don't you go home and I'll give you a ring when I have a good path to head on?" he offered. "I'll need your number again though. I always get rid of my clients personal information once I'm done their request. They get to keep my card and can call if they need further assistance. Only special clients like you know my address. I really wish you'd visit more often, but I can see why you don't. Always got to take care of Laehal."

"Stop rambling, Mr. Nirue," Shayel said, then she took a card from her pocket and handed it to Sever. "Work fast and there will be no consequences. Tell that to your friends too." Shayel then left the house and drove back home.

Sever immediately set out to pacing around his house. What was he to do? Should he call his friends and ask for their help? No, what if they thought that he was second guessing his job? He was supposed to forge things, though. He was a liar.

Sever decided that he would get his friends to help him get Shayel onto a path that she would believe. He picked up the phone and dialled Pomrey's number.

"Hello?" came a female voice.

"It's Sever, Pomrey. I need your help. You see, a client has lost a child...," he trailed off, hoping Pomrey would understand who he was talking about.

"Is it that Shayel character again? I thought I'd never hear her name again."

"Yes. Laehal found his old house and found my address a couple days ago. He came to me and I told him the truth." Sever left out the part about Laehal seeing visions. "Once he learned that Shayel had lied to him his entire life, he must have run away from her, and now she wants my help to get him back. Thing is, Shayel is a monster. I don't want that poor boy to live with her any longer. Do you think you could help me get Shayel on the wrong path?"

"Am I really talking to Sever Nirue?" asked Pomrey. "You seem different."

"I regret making Laehal's life a lie. I feel like there's something about him...I just can't place it." Sever thought for a moment. "It's like he's destined to do great things. Important things."

There was silence on the other line. After around a minute, Pomrey replied, "I don't suppose there's any way for me to meet this Laehal?"

"Not unless we can find him. I don't know where he ran to. But first we just need to throw Shayel off. Say maybe he jumped on a bus to a different province? It would give us a lead, and from what I've seen of Laehal, I know that he would never do that. Shayel's never let him out of her sight unless she knows exactly where he's going and what he'll be doing there. He wouldn't know how. Do you think you could do that for me?"

"Sure. Find bus times for the day he ran away going to maybe Saskatchewan? I think I can do that. I'm on your side, always," Pomrey replied. "Always listen to Sever, eh?" She laughed, then hung up the phone.

"Blast it, I forgot to tell her Shayel had a deadline set," mumbled Sever.
