Thunder crashes in the distance, the rain pouring buckets and pelting against the windshield. The wipers were moving as fast as they could--but they weren't fast enough. They should have stayed home, and done this when the storm was over. Their family would understand. Of course they would.
But he just kept driving, his eyes highly concentrated on the road. He had his wife looking around for any animals that could jump out and make this a fatal drive. There were no other vehicles; they were the only ones stupid enough to go out in this weather.
"Faren, think about Laehal! We could die in this weather!" she tried to tell him, but he wouldn't listen.
"Sithil, we will make it! I promised him...I-I promised him...."
"Let it go, Faren. He can wait another night. We can't make it!" Sithil tried to reason with her husband, but to no avail. It was no use, for neither of them could see through the windshield any longer. "Faren! We need to pull over! Now!"
Faren tried to see where the side of the road was. But he couldn't find it, and just decided to stop...
But the car started to hydroplane, and the tires lost their grip...
Faren swerved, and Sithil's last words to her husband were, "I love you!" The car ran off the road and smacked into a telephone pole, head on, and the passengers died immediately.
