(A/N) Two things. First, I hope you are all enjoying my chapter-ly playlist :D Second, Rookery is now being updated on Tuesdays AND Fridays to replace my story, Broken Soldier, while I try to get over my writer's block on that one. Thanks guys, and enjoy. :)

It had been a week since Jacob had been injured and I had woken up early this morning. I made breakfast for everyone and brewed a pot of tea, but it wasn't even dawn yet so no one would be awake for a couple of hours. The large bowl of prepared fruit sat on the edge of Henry's front desk. I smiled at my handiwork and took a seat to read more about previous assassins.

Jacob and Evie had been teaching me about them after lights out. Henry insisted we sleep when he told us, but I would sit with my sheets around my shoulders on the end of Jacob's bed. Then, he would end up kicking me in the thigh for 'fun' and I would have to move to Evie's bed. Last night hadn't been the same, as Evie had been out on a mission and Jacob and I were exhausted. We had nothing to talk about, since Evie usually instigated the conversation.

The bedroom door creaked open and Jacob strolled out in just a pair of loose trousers. He rubbed at his face with the balls of his hands, groaning loudly.

"Morning, Jacob." I whispered. Henry's room was right behind me, so I tried to keep quiet. "Help yourself to some fruit." He piled up some grapes in his palm.

"Did you see Evie come in last night?"

"No, I was fast asleep. She is in there now, though." He nodded and sat beside me. We must have been such a sight - me in my striped pyjamas with messy hair and Jacob with his hair stuck up on end and no shirt on.

"Why have you got your hidden blade there?" Jacob gestured towards my bracer on the side table.

"I thought I heard someone at the door. It's here for protection. How is your wound?" He gently touched the bandage.

"I had actually forgotten about it." He chuckled. "So I suppose it isn't bothering me any more." I waved him closer and began to peel away the bandage. His wound had scabbed over nicely, showing signs of healing.

"You should be able to go to your gang fight today, then." His eyes widened.

"Gang fight?" He grinned.

"Against Kaylock's gang. He's bet his train on the fight. Oh, and help yourself to some tea, if you like." He stood up and began tipping tea into a different cup. He plopped back down with a huff.

"Does that mean I have to get dressed?"

"You can face Kaylock half naked if you so wish. Not sure that the Clinkers will be too pleased."

"How did you know about the Clinkers?"

"Evie." Henry's door opened. He was fully dressed.

"Good morning, you two. Is Evie awake yet?" I shook my head.

"I made tea and prepared fruit. Have some, if you like."

"Thank you, Miss Faraday."

"Don't mention it. It is the least I can do since you are letting me stay here." He took a few slices of orange and picked a bowl from beneath his front desk. "What about this gang fight, Henry?" I asked.

"I will let all three of you know more once Evie is awake. That way, I do not have to repeat information. Plus, I have something for each of you." He gave a little smile before disappearing into the back room.

"Presents? Exciting." Jacob smirked. "I should get dressed."

"I will take the bathroom. These pyjamas are starting to feel uncomfortable." I set down my teacup and started into the bedroom.
