Whenever I thought of my family, a night full of terrors usually ensued. Nightmare after nightmare was almost too much for me to bare. However, I decided not to leave the carriage, in fear that Jacob would wake up and interrogate me.

This was my fifth terror that night. My breathing was heavy when I woke up, and hot tears had worked their way down my cheeks. I rubbed my face, still breathing deeply to try to calm myself. When that didn't work, I sat up and reached for the jug of water beside my bed. I sipped from it. It cooled me down and my fear levels lowered dramatically. I let out a loud sigh as I fell back to the bed.

"You have been doing that for hours." I heard from the foot of my bed. A chair had been pulled up, and Henry was perched on it.

"Mr Green - when did you get there?" We were whispering to each other. I gently pulled my covers further over my chest, feeling exposed.

"You have given me quite the fright, Miss Faraday. In fact, it was Evie who came to get me." I raised an eyebrow and sat up. "She had heard groaning and thought you were in trouble. Jacob was apparently awake and trying to block out the noise. She saw you were thrashing about, told Jacob to take up the sofa so that you could have your own space, and asked me to check on you. She thought I would know what to do." He chuckled lightly. "My, how wrong she was."

"I'm fine, Mr Green. It's just-- Jacob and I were talking earlier and I told him about my home situation. I felt as if someone at least needed to know. Bringing those memories back up often sparks fits of nightmares in me. It is really nothing to worry about."

"If you are still suffering, then I believe you need to speak to someone."

"Speaking to Jacob was help enough." I sighed, and shut my eyes. "Please, do not make me tell anyone else. I'm afraid I might go mad."

"I will not make you tell anyone. However, should this become too much, please come to me. While Jacob is a fine friend, I am your mentor at the moment. You should feel comfortable to tell me anything."

"I do, Mr Green. The poison today on that boat simply made me blurt out any secrets I had. Everything rushing back so quickly is quite an adjustment." I started to get out of the bed. "I don't feel like going back to sleep anymore." Henry stood and opened the carriage door. "Mr Green?" He turned his head slightly. "Would you mind not telling anyone about this? Of course, I appreciate your help, I just would rather this stay between us."

"Confidential information will never be shared, Miss Faraday. You have my word." He smiled.

"Thank you."

We both exited the carriage, and Jacob was sat up on the sofa in the main one. He saw me, and stood.

"Are you alright?" I nodded. "Are you certain?"

"Just a little blip. The memories do that sometimes. Don't worry about me." He laughed sarcastically.

"How can I not? You pull something like that and you expect me to be alright with it?" He grabbed my shoulders, holding me at arm's length. "Don't you dare ever do that again."
