The day after my major panic attack and mine and Jacob's little heart-to-heart, he was up early to get ready to go out to work. I could hear him fumbling around with his clothes, struggling to get his trousers on, and he tumbled backwards to the floor of the carriage. I suppressed a laugh and shut my eyes, hoping to fall asleep again.

Not ten minutes later, I felt something warm on my forehead. I peeled my eyes open and saw Jacob's outstretched arm. His fingers were curled around the handle of a tea cup.

"I made tea."

"Yes, I see that." I took the cup from my forehead and placed it on the table beside my bed. "Why have you brought me tea?"

"I thought you could use it after your day yesterday." I noticed his bare, taught, muscular chest as he sat down on the end of my bed. He placed a kind, gentle hand to my knee as I propped myself up on the head board. "How are you feeling?" I smiled.

"A lot better." I leaned forward and placed a soft kiss to his stubbly cheek. "All thanks to you, Jacob Frye." He laughed, embarrassed by my minuscule show of affection. My hand fell slowly to his shoulder. "You were a lot of help yesterday. I cannot thank you enough." He sipped his drink.

"I was simply doing my job, Carina. Don't mention it." Jacob then stood and grabbed his undershirt, starting to pull it over his head. His teacup had been discarded on the side table

"Wait." I stated. He stopped pulling it halfway down and looked at me, his face etched with confusion. I swiftly hopped out of the bed. I stood in front of Jacob and placed my cold hands to his bare sides. His core tightened, reacting to my touch. I smirked at him. "Very impressive." I teased, running a finger up and down his chest and stomach. He twitched at the slight tickles.

"Could you stop that, please?" Jacob mumbled, grabbing my hand with his. I giggled then yanked the rest of his undershirt down to his waist. Once that was done, I pushed myself onto my tip toes and placed my nose on his.

"Fine. I will stop. But, I will start up again if you don't kiss me."

"Now, it may be difficult for me to do that." He chimed sarcastically. "Demonstrate." I rolled my eyes. With one quick change of the angle of my head, my lips pressed against his. In order to tease him, I only touched his lips quickly. "Well, that wasn't very fair. But, I think I know what to do now."

"Go ahead." He flattened his lips on mine and left a far longer kiss than I had. Behind Jacob, I could hear someone clearing their throat. We pulled apart, making a loud squeak between our two mouths. I held my sleeve over the bottom half of my face. Evie and Henry stood there in front of us. I saw them once Jacob stepped to my side. In just my night clothes, I felt a little bit exposed.

"My little brother and our colleague. I don't suppose I will ever get used to seeing you two so close." Evie folded her arms with a grin. Jacob then grabbed my arm, twisted me around, and squished a deep kiss into my lips. I attempted to shove him away, but he had hold of me with a vice like grip. When he finally put me down, I landed a strong, swift punch on his bicep whilst my cheeks gathered a dark, crimson tinge.
