Over the next three weeks, I taught English to Martin and he taught it to a few of his housemaids. Then, just this afternoon, the news arrived to me that I would be travelling home the next morning. I was overly excited, since I hadn't seen Jacob, Evie or Henry in a month, and I so desperately missed them.

I spent the entire night packing my things and getting ready for the next day. My loosest dress was my outfit which I laid out on top of my chest of drawers so that I didn't accidentally pack it away. My cardigan and gloves would also be accompanying me on the journey. It was always cold out at sea, so I would need the extra warmth.

According to Martin, he would see me off at the harbour, which I preferred. Felix would be travelling with me, even though I tried to argue that I didn't need an escort. I planned to stay as far away from Felix as possible, and to also have him stay on the ship while I went to meet Jacob, who would be picking me up in a carriage as soon as I arrived.

The winds were stronger, apparently, than when I had gotten to France, so it was predicted that it would not take two days to get back, and may not even take one full day. I wanted to be my best when I finally got back to England, and I didn't want to be crippled by seasickness and nausea again.

After tossing and turning for hours, I got out of bed at around midnight. It was difficult to sleep through my excitement to see everyone again. So, on account of that, I decided to grab my bags and make an attempt to leave early. I changed quickly into my dress, cardigan and gloves and crept out of my room with my cases. Of course, I had written a note explaining that I was feeling ill from a wound on my arm. I lied that it must have become infected, and I trusted my doctor back in England to treat me. I was sorry and I hoped that this wouldn't affect his decision to transfer the funds. He was an understanding man and surely would have forgiven me. Although, the theft of a carriage probably would not have been something he would easily forget.

I had made it outside without anyone hearing or seeing me. Procuring a carriage and two horses was going to be the difficult part. Or so I thought. No one was outside, and the stable boys must have been in their quarters, asleep. Two horses were already tethered to a carriage. I shoved my cases into the main part of the carriage, shut the door and climbed up to the seat. I took the reigns and whipped them violently. The horses bucked onto their back legs for a second, before tearing out of the stable. I was on my way.

The gates to the estate passed by me at incredible speed, almost so fast that I hadn't seen them. Nicely trimmed bushes and weed-less flower beds disappeared, to be replaced with overgrown grass and wet mud.

It took me three hours to get to the harbour. At that point, a cargo ship was loading its wares. I used my Sense to listen in to a conversation.

"You are to take all this lot to Dover. Once there, a few carriages should meet you to take it all to London." Dover! Perfect!

Now, all I had to do was sneak on board the ship and hide amongst the others. But how..? I didn't want to lost the beautiful dress which Mabel had made me. I smirked and thought back to when I had taken those grapples from the Blighters. That was my idea. I undid the top buttons of my dress, letting my chest hang slightly out in the open to ensure it would be seen. I then swanned out from my hiding space after messing my hair up and making myself look as if I had been attacked. Perhaps I would have looked more vulnerable.
