"He may try something with explosives again, like he did earlier on. Flames and all sorts." I mumbled into my hand. Evie then stepped forward and stopped in front of her brother.
"Jacob, you let things get so bad. How on Earth did you get so worked up in this?" She sighed. "Father would never have wanted this."
"I don't care what Father would have wanted at this point. I want to keep Carina safe, and I can't do that while Roth is out there and looking for a reason to get revenge on us. I need to stop him." I reached out and grabbed his hand.
"You don't need to protect me. I have my own skills. However, I think I know how we should kill him." I grinned. "We both know Roth goes a bit mad when something annoys him or when he gets suddenly angry. So, we can only assume that he will do something awful when we arrive at the theatre. He should be so interested and consumed by whatever it is he is doing that we should be able to sneak up on him and take him down."
"Perhaps you could use the fact that he is at a theatre against him. Above the stage, there is bound to be a walk way which the workers use to hang props. You could jump from there to kill him." Evie suggested with a wide smile on her face. "Plus, you can create distractions along the way. Poison water jugs to make other guests go crazy, things like that."
"Alright. I think you may well be right, Evie." I buckled my belt tighter as my weapons began to weight it down. Throwing knives, berserk darts, cane sword, kukri. My brass knuckles with the spikes on adorned my knuckles beautifully with a certain deadly grace. Plus, to complete the assassin ensemble, my bracer with my hidden blade and grappling hook gripped tightly to my wrist. I smiled at them once I was done admiring my weapons. "I think it's time to go. This needs to end."
"Agreed." Jacob muttered in a husky voice. "We should take a carriage to get there before he does something drastic. He could harm the other guests to the theatre."
"See you later on, Evie." I waved and smiled at her. She did the same back as Jacob and I left the train.
We found a carriage fairly easily. One had been left unattended just outside of the station and, of course, we needed to use it. The horses started to move at a slow pace, the cobbles below them clicking gently. Then, Jacob gave a strong whip of the reins and they sped up to a run. I pulled my hood over my head to keep my hair from blowing in my face.
As we rode, I slowly went through how the situation would play out, in order for me to have an idea about how we would go about killing Roth. That way, I felt more organised and a lot more prepared for the mission.
The carriage began to slow outside the music hall. Despite my planning, I felt so unprepared. Jacob hopped off before me and offered a hand to help me down. I took it with a grin.
"So, how are we going about this?" I asked. I then grabbed his hat and placed it on my head after peeling my hood back.
"We need a vantage point. I'm thinking a high balcony where the stage can be easily seen." He then took his hat back. "And why did you take my hat?"
"It looks better on me." He shrugged.
