When we arrived at the courthouse I saw my dad (in handcuffs of course),mom and brother. I worked really hard to control my breathing so we didn't have another incident like last night. Mr. Morris was the first to speak and he looked like a pro. He brought up how my parents had me sleep in the closet while Marc had two rooms, how my parents stopped buying me clothes and how I had to prepare all of own food. He told them about my dad abusing me and the violent nightmares I have had since them. He also told them about the panic attack and me cutting my face up when running from someone just trying to lightly touch my shoulder. He also told them how my mom wanted me to sleep on an open porch with nothing but the clothes I had on near the beginning of winter. Then it was my parents turn to talk.
"Your honor I have no idea what that man is talking about. My daughter has her own room, plenty of clothes and she doesn't prepare her own food. I never once made her sleep on the porch." My face turned pale my mother just lied in front of the judge. I couldn't control it and I started shaking and I worked to keep my breathing under control, which I did. Of course Mr. Morris jumped up and shouted "I OBJECT!" The judge gave him the floor to talk. "I have a question for the defendant." My mother stepped forward ready for the question, "If everything is great at home, why did a skinny, cold shaking girl show up to my house at eight o'clock after knowing my daughter for one day only because they rode the bus together? Also the last time you talked she starting shaking and is shaking right now and struggling to keep her breathing under control, why is that?"
