Before I went to bed, I decided to go over the plan in my head one more time. If Mr. Morris called a babysitter I would pretend to fall asleep and wait for the babysitter to fall asleep. Once asleep I would sneak out the back door. On the table I would leave a note signed by Mr. Morris saying that he picked me up and took me to the hospital and that the babysitter could go home. If it was Mr. Morris that stayed with me I would leave him a note saying I was in no danger and not to look for me. It wasn't a great plan, but I was pretty sure Mr. Morris was going to get me a babysitter.
Next I was going to run away, as simple as that. I planned to go into to the woods and stay there forever, I guess or until I feel liked I belonged somewhere. Staying in the woods wasn't too bad right? I mean it wasn't like big woods more like just small town section of trees, we were in the country. The trees would keep me hidden and I wouldn't push my problems on anyone else. I would be my own problem.
The nurse brought in my food and I ate every last bite I didn't know how the next few weeks was going to go. I watched tv until I feel asleep, but I had another nightmare. I saw Mr. Morris standing over me saying I was his problem and his burden and blaming me for Jane being sick. I saw him turn away from me and running to Jane screaming behind his back "You're a problem!" I was sweating, kicking and screaming. I woke up shaking and breathing irregularly the nurse standing above me. "Honey are you okay?"
I stammered for words and finally just went with "I'm fine I just had a nightmare."
"When people say they're fine they usually mean the exact opposite."
"I'm okay really." With that the nurse walked out of the room. I strained my eyes and looked at the clock on the shelf across the room. 8:03 a.m. I decided to start packing up the few things I had here. I put my stuffed animal the hospital gave me, and the stress ball they had given me to work with my fingers. I grabbed my clothes the hospital had donated for me to wear home and went to the bathroom to put them on. The clothes were a long sleeve black t- shirt that said I love Hampton Hospital and a black pair of sweats. The only problem was is that they were a size too big.I looked at the tags to see that they were the size that fit me before. I hadn't really eaten this whole time except for the past day.
The nurse informed me it was time to go home. I saw Mr. Morris again for the first time in a few days. He seemed pale and skinny, his hair was slightly grew and unkept. His lips looked thin and chapped and he had more wrinkles on his face. He didn't look like the signature lawyer I had seen him as before. He was outside my door and through the small window  I could see him talking on the phone. I heard him through the glass say "It's been so crazy lately, I can't leave Jane at the hospital and I just can't take care of Alex anymore."
