Chapter 35

"Mom! Mom!" I yelled throughout the house, ignoring the fact that it was 2AM.

"Kennedy, people are sleeping!" my aunt hissed at me. I just pushed past her and ran to the top of the steps and to her room. I knocked rapidly until she finally opened.

"What?!" she barked at me. I heard Niall, Emily and Mackenzie enter the house.

I tried to stop myself from crying so I could tell her what happened, but my voice was still cracking. My mother took me in a large hug, rubbing my back and telling me it's OK. "Was it Niall?" she asked me sympathetically.

"No, no it was Aimee," I said, pushing back from the hug, "Dad called me, a-and I think Aimee's hurt!" At this point, Patrick, Cassia and Finn had exited their rooms to see what the noise was about.

"Oh my, I'm calling your father now, go tell your aunt and uncle we need plane tickets," she instructed me, rushing back into her bedroom.

"Mom, I have guests here," I informed her, my voice becoming regular again.

"We can take Emily and Mackenzie home, they're leaving in a couple days anyway," she said, throwing her things about the room, searching for her phone. I had no time to argue, I just continued to go to the stairs.

"Kennedy, what's going on?" Finn asked me, descending down the stairs.

"I'll explain later, Finny," I said to him, brushing the tears away from my eyes. I stopped on the stairs to get a good look at him, he was so worried, "Please get some rest." I ruffled his hair and he went back up to his room.

"Kennedy," my aunt said, seeing me a mess.

"We need four tickets on the next plane to Sacramento," I informed her. She immediately exited the room. I heard my mother and my aunt communicating through hushed screams.

"Four?" Emily asked.

"I'm really sorry guys, but it's easier if we all go since my mom and I need to be there for Aimee," I said as I feel my tears collecting in my eyes. Niall took me into a big hug, letting me cry into his shoulder.

"She'll be fine, love, you'll go and see her while she gets better and then come back home all together," Niall assured me, rubbing my back. The noises of my family members running around sounded throughout the big house.

"Is it alright, if we go say goodbye to the boys?" Emily asked.

"Yes, please do," I said.

Mackenzie and Emily ran out of the house to go say goodbye to their new found love. Niall kept his arms wrapped around me. He scooped me up and brought me to the couch, sitting me on top of him and holding me close. My legs straddled his hips as my arms were locked around his neck. Niall began humming to me, trying to get my mind off of the almost-yelling going on around the house. After crying all the tears I had in me, I felt myself drifting into sleep in Niall's embrace.

I woke in my room to see Niall sitting at the edge of my bed.

"What time is it?" I asked him.

"10:19," he answered.

"How long have you been sitting there?" I asked, sitting myself up.

"Well, I carried you up here at like 3 because I didn't want you to be sore from sleeping on the couch, and I, uh, I stayed up here in case you woke up and were still sad," he admitted, looking down at his hands. I crawled over to him, realizing I was in my grey Soffee shorts and a JFK lacrosse t-shirt.
