Chapter 46
I woke up slowly, my eyes slipping open to see the ceiling. I turned my neck to see Niall on my left, his arms wrapped protectively around my small waist. I pulled my dainty hand out from under the covers and started running my fingers over his bicep. I watched his face soften as I ran them up and down, from his shoulder to his wrist. His skin started to raise goose bumps from my touch. His blonde hair was fanned on the pillow, his lips slightly parted as he breathed. Niall's chest rose and fell with each breath. I found myself just watching him with my fingers still running on his skin as his blue eyes fluttered open.
He moaned a little bit, "Good morning." He smiled up at me, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Good morning," I returned the smile. His eyes went from mine to my long fingers.
"That feels nice," he said, his voice gravely and rough. After five minutes of tickling his skin, he kissed me lightly and made me lay down on my front. He unhooked my bra and started running his fingers up and down my back. He went from my neck to just above my shorts. I would squirm when he tickled my sides.
"Niall?" I called to him as his fingers kept going.
"Mm?" he hummed in response.
"I love you," I paused, "and you still love me too?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I?" he asked.
I turned on my side to look at him, "Just making sure." I re-clipped my bra and I smiled, and remembered something else, "Do you remember the day I was leaving for America, and you were in the room with me when I woke up?"
"Yeah?" he said, seeing where I was going with this.
"What did you mean, when you said I looked scared when I told you I love you?" I questioned. I looked up to see his face hard, trying to remember our conversation.
"When you told me you loved me, you were more hesitant," he explained, "like you were thinking if you actually did love me. But that day, that day you didn't say it like you were so sure, you said it like I should know, like you should know. You said it as if you were grateful that you knew what it was like to actually love."
"I was scared, I still slightly am," I said, my voice quiet.
Niall took his hand and cupped my cheek, "I'm scared too. Especially when you see your parents split up, it isn't easy, and I know that. It makes you lose hope. But I promise you that won't be us."
"Of course, we're not our parents," I said reassuringly. He kissed my forehead and got out of bed. His back was still red and scratched up from last night. I giggled a bit as he walked over to his suitcase to grab a change of clothes.
"How's your back?" I asked as I was still giggling.
'It feels better than it did last night, thanks to you," he chuckled, bending over to grab a different shirt, "How are you?"
"I'm fine, not as sore." I got up and walked over to him, placing my arms around his waist, "You know, I wasn't expecting our first time to be that special. I'm happy it was."
He turned around to hold me close to his chest, "I loved last night. I wish we could do it all over again."
I picked my head up to look at him in the eyes, "We can do it all over again." I smirked at him and slipped my hand over his boxers, "Only when you're a good boy." I winked at him and walked over to the other side of the room where my dresser was.
"Oh, I love you so much that I'm going to let you get change and I'm not going to throw you on the bed and ravish you," he joked, watching me walk away.
