Chapter 12

"Kennedy? Are you awake?" Niall asked, standing above me.

"Where am I?" I asked, lifting my hand to my eyes. I saw Niall smile, now that I was awake.

"You're in my house, you passed out on our way here," he explained. I started remembering the events that occurred earlier, but I couldn't remember why I passed out. I remember our date, that was about it.

"Why did I faint?" I asked, confused. I usually am not the kind of person to just go unconscious.

"Erm, you told me you loved me," he said, looking down. He sat at the foot of the couch that I was laid on. I propped myself up on my elbows, looking at his face. I was speechless as I remembered what I had said.

"Oh," I didn't know what to say. It's not like I didn't mean it. I was pretty sure of my feelings, but there was something holding me back. "I'm scared, Niall," I said, almost whispering.

"Why?" Niall said, very concerned.

"I-I just, I think, am I, I think I love you. But the last time I told that to someone, I was hurt. And I've only known you so long, but we've spent a lot of time together and I don't know what will happen or if I will get hurt again and I ju--," I rambled, talking quickly and trying to come up with words until Niall interrupted me.

"I love you too," he said with comforting eyes. He smiled, grabbing my hand. I looked down at our interlocked fingers, and I felt safe.

"I love you," I whispered, still looking down. "I love you," I said it louder. I didn't know if I was trying to convince myself, or trying to convince him. "I love you!" I shouted, looking up at him. I wore a smile, brighter than the stars. He laughed at me, continuously shouting 'I love you' to him. "I LOVE YOU!" I stood up, pulling him up with me.

"You're insane, Miss Richards," Niall said, kissing me. I think he meant for it to be a light kiss, but I reeled him back in my hooking my hand to the back of his neck. I pushed my body to his, holding him tightly. He held me too, as our lips connected. He pulled back, staring at me with his bright eyes, "I love you too."

"Love usually scares me," I said to him, getting serious, "but I feel safe with you." I hugged him tightly and nuzzled my head into his neck.

"You are safe, Kennedy. I would never hurt you," he said, rubbing my back. I pulled back and looked into his eyes. I was safe; I was home. "I love you," Niall said to me, quietly. I smiled, and pushed his face back into mine. I pushed him into the couch, putting myself on top of him.

"Ask me again," I said, putting my face just above his. He was still in a daze.

"What?" he was confused.

"Ask. Me. Again." I said once more. I was ready. It was Valentine's Day, I had just told him I loved him, it seemed perfect. He finally understood what I meant.

"Kennedy," he said, seriously, "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"

I nodded my head vigorously and his smile became wide. He pulled me down to his face as we continued with our lips. I felt something surge through me, something good. I think it was happiness, because this moment was perfect. I was in love, I was committed to one person.

As we worked together, me on top of him, he got my waist belt off. I didn't object, it was restricting. We both kicked our shoes off. I managed to get his blazer off and onto the floor. I ran my fingers through his dirty blond locks as he pushed his hips into mine.

"Do you want to go to my room?" he asked breathlessly. I nodded as he picked me up by my thighs. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. As he carried me, I kissed his neck and jaw line. In no time he threw me on his large bed, his hips still in-between my legs.
