Chapter 47
This summer went and came very quickly.
Louis, Liam, Eleanor and Danielle decided to stay in Europe, because they couldn't afford the plane tickets to America. However, they did spend their summer all together, and we spoke with them any chance we got. We basically Skyped them almost every night.
At the beginning of the summer, I made sure to send out all of my college applications before our visitors came. Niall ended up applying to the same colleges I was, and some extra few just in case. We found out that we took all of the required classes needed for Senior year, so we could skip and go on to college. I blindly took these classes in Sacramento and Niall blindly took them his last year of middle school. He didn't even realize he was in an excelled program. Back in California, we would be forced to take more classes in high school, but I guess Ireland was different.
When Harry and Zayn came, Mackenzie and Emily were ecstatic. We picked them up from the airport and they would not let go of each other! On June 28th, Niall remembered my birthday and he threw me a party, which ended up just being us six, my parents, Aimee and James. With the rest of our summer, we went to the beach, we went on triple dates, we even went to Los Angeles to go sight seeing. While we were there, we ran into, the one and only, Simon Cowell! He said he remembered the boys from their auditions, and was sorry they didn't make it onto the show. After they chatted some more, Simon gave them his card with contact information on it, and told them to call him.
After the star struck, we spent the rest of the summer relaxing and having fun.
When the summer reluctantly came to an end, my dad was feeling a whole lot better. Doctor Yen said he was stable enough to be alone without us. Dad would still go in for regular appointments, but he was doing very well. Mom and Dad have gotten even better friend-wise, I'm glad they're in a good place. Aimee is coping with her prosthetic, and is looking on the bright side of things. Her and James, that boy she was hanging out with, are going steady now. I'm glad she has a boyfriend, especially looking at her condition when we first arrived to Mullingar. They seem to be very happy together.
By the end of August, Harry, Zayn, Niall and I had to go back to Europe and continue our lives there. Emily and Mackenzie were sad to see their loves leaving them, but we all promised to see each other really soon. I was excited, not only to return to my regular life in Ireland, but to stop eating all of this California junk food! I'd gained so much weight from all the snacks, it's like every time I spend too much time with Emily and Mackenzie I just get bigger! Luckily Niall didn't notice.
After our many goodbyes, we had to leave behind Dad, Mackenzie, Emily and James and go back to Ireland. The plane ride just made me remember the first time we flew to Ireland, and how I was dreading it; now look at where I am.
When we arrived home, Mom informed us that she had saved enough money to buy a house for us so we could move out of Aunt Clara's. I had nervously asked my mother where we were moving to, in fear of it being too far away from Niall's house. Turns out, we were buying the house right across the street! They've been selling their home for as long as Aunt Clara can remember. It's a large house, 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 3 showers, a large kitchen and an even bigger yard. It even had a cute little porch in the front.
Also when we arrived home, Niall and I found out we've been accepted to the same college, Saint Patrick's College, which is only a couple hours from home. We'll be dorming there, and now we're packing up and getting ready to go start a new chapter in our lives. I've been so emotional lately, but I guess it's because all that has happened in a short amount of time.
"Hey babe, you ready to go?" Niall asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, just give me a second to make sure I've got everything," I said, looking down at the box in my hand. A week after we moved in to our new house across the street, I ended up moving out to the dorm. I looked around my new room, saddened by the fact that I had to go to an even newer room.
I walked around, making sure I had everything, checking the bathroom also. Looked like I was all set for the college life. It's weird, I'm only 17 and I'm already going to college. Senior year isn't even a hype anyway, you just do nothing and wait to be accepted into college.
As I walked out of the new house and down to the truck Niall's dad had bought him with the box in my hand, I couldn't help but worry about what was going to happen at college.
"Don't be nervous, love, everything is going to be great," Niall said to me, taking the box from my hands and putting it in the back. It's like he could read me.
"I'm going to miss you so much!" my mom said, hugging me tightly.
"I'm going to miss you too, I promise I'll call when I get the chance," I said into our embrace.
Next I hugged Aimee, then Finn, then Liam, then Gregg, then Mr. Horan, then Niall's mom. I didn't hug Cassia and Patrick because they already set out to their colleges last week.
I hopped in the passenger seat as Niall started the engine of his new car. We waved to our families as we drove off.
"Niall, we're going to college, how are you not freaking out like I am?" I asked, sweating and feeling nauseous.
"I don't know, honestly," he said, shrugging his shoulders and keeping his eye on the road, "I guess it hasn't hit me yet."
"I can't believe we're lucky enough to go to the same college," I smiled at him.
"Yeah, what're the odds?" he asked, smiling too.
As we passed the "Thanks for visiting Mullingar!" sign, all I thought about was how lucky we were. We were lucky to be neighbors. The night of the dinner, we were lucky to meet each other. At school, we were lucky to be together. When I was with Derek, I was lucky Niall saved me. We were lucky to get into the same college. These things happened all because I moved to Ireland.
I guess that's why it's called Irish Luck.
The End.

So, that's the end! Sorry it was short, this was just a closing kind of thing. Don't worry, I will be writing a sequel which will remain unnamed for now. I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for reading!
