Chapter 2

I woke up at 8AM and got dressed silently into a pair of tights, denim shorts with lacy details, an acid wash purple vest top and a pair of converse. I didn't tell Jess where I was going, mainly because we haven't spoken since she slapped me. I still refuse to believe that sweet little Jess, who pretended to be a princess for an entire year when she was four (She made Nathan be her servant, it was funny because he actually did it really well), could ever do something like that but the hand shaped red mark across my cheek begs to differ. Karen knows obviously, Karen always knows everything, I don't know how but she always finds out. I remember one time, me and Nathan asked her if we could go play outside, she said no because it was wet and very muddy, but we did anyway. We literally rolled around in the mud and we got absolutely covered in mud, we sneaked back inside and tried to hide our clothes. The next thing we know, Karen puts our dirty clothes in the washing machine, hands me and Nathan some clothes and blankets and scolds us for not listening to her and possibly getting ill... We both got a cold and had to stay off school...

I crept into the kitchen and saw Jess sitting at the breakfast bar, eating coco pops

"Where are you going?" She asked quietly

"Out." I said bluntly

"Did I do that?" She said quietly, pointing to my cheek. I nodded. She shot up from her chair and ran over to me, giving me a strong hug

"I'm sorry! I don't know what came over me! I'm sorry!" She begged for forgiveness and trust me, nobody can stay mad a Jessica Sykes.

"Hey, it's okay Jessy." I said, moving a stray piece of hair away from her face

"Where are you going?" She repeated

"Erm Jess well I'm... Err going to go see... A friend." I muttered, unsure what to say

"Who?" She asked, crossing her arms across her chest

"Jess. I'm going to go see Nathan." I sighed

"Huh? So he's been talking to you? Why didn't you tell us?" Her voice raised in anger and surprise 

"No Jess. I won concert tickets, he hasn't talked to me." I exhaled loudly

"Really?" She asked suspiciously 

"Really." I said and I think it sounded genuine thankfully.

"Can I come?"

"Jess, I think it's best if I just go for now. If he wants to see you, he will. Maybe it would be best if he just explained himself to me." She nodded sadly, gave me a hug then returned to her cereal.

"O-okay. Give him a hug... From me."

I left for the door, slotting my key into the lock and turning. Just as I did so, Karen came running out. Her eyes were glistened with tears

"Tell Nathan I love him."

"I will Karen." I said, giving her a quick hug before leaving and locking the door. I sighed, leaning against the door as a few tears escaped my eyes. No matter what he did, he always had someone wishing the best for him... I ran into the taxi that I'd ordered and shut the door

"Alright love?" He asked, noticing my tear streaked face

"Yes. The arena please." He drove there quickly and I paid him what he asked, despite the fact I was basically conned by him overpricing the journey by about £10.

I arrived at the arena, I walked up to the security man and showed him my backstage pass then he lead me into a small room with about 3 other girls inside it

"Looks like you're the last one." He said before leaving. 1 by one, the girls were escorted out into the next room until it was only me. My heart rate increased so fast at the thought of seeing him again, at the same time, I couldn't be more furious with him. The security guard came in a escorted me into the room. I looked inside and saw his band mates and then... Nathan. We stared at each other for a moment, unblinking and wordlessly

"L-Lili." He muttered, he smiled excitedly. I ran towards him and jumped on him like I did when he left

"Nathan I've missed you so much!" I said, crying into his shoulder

"L-Lili I've missed you too." He chocked out and I knew he was crying. I looked up from his shoulder and saw the four boys congregated behind us, looking anxiously at us or more so Nathan. I felt Nathan's nose brush against my neck then all the boys rushed over and pushed Nathan away which ultimately meant I had to jump off him

"Lili nice to see you again... Not to be rude but what are you doing here?" Tom asked rather condescendingly

"Well I'm here to see my best friend. Thanks for taking him away by the way." I spat

"It's a lot more complicated than that." Tom said, edging closer to me

"Oh yeah? Then talk." I went a stood millimeters away from him and stared him dead in the eyes

"Nathan. Go." Tom snarled, dragging me into the corner followed by a reluctant and sorry looking Nathan. Tom stomped away. Ass. 

"I'm sorry. I don't know why he did that. He has tantrums sometimes" I nodded, my throat constricted and I couldn't speak

"Is Jess with you? Is my mum?" He asked, looking hopefully towards the door. I shook my head gently and he looked down sadly

"Your mum says she loves you, Jess said to give you a hug." I sighed, he let out a shaky breath

"What happened Nathan?" I sighed

"Err..." He looked down at him feet nervously

"You just left us! You didn't reply to anything we sent! Do you even care about us?" I shouted at him

"You know I do!" His voice raised in anger

"Oh yeah well you have a crap way of showing it." I spat

"Oh shut up Lili! You have no idea what's going on!" He shouted, he appeared in front of me within seconds, how did he get there that quickly? The boys turned around and looked over nervously. He looked furious and I didn't know what to do, I've never seen him this angry. His eyes flashed a bright red... What the hell?

"N-Nathan your e-eyes." I whimpered, backing away from him into the wall. He shook his head strongly like he was knocking a thought out of his head and his eyes returned to their normal colour

"L-Lili I'm so sorry. I've messed everything up." He cried before collapsing on his knees and sobbing.

"Nathan. Nathan. Hey, what's up?" I said soothingly, rubbing his back

"Lili I'm sorry." He chocked out

"Nathan tell me what's wrong." He shook his head

"Nathan please." I begged 

"I can't do this anymore." He whispered

"Tell me." I whispered back

"L-Lili... I'm a vampire."
