SUPER IMPORTANT PLEASE READ- At the moment my family are going through a bit of a traumatic time as my Grandpa has passed away a week ago. It hasn't hit me properly yet but after the funeral it probably will. This means that I may miss some updates. I've tried hard to write the next chapters in case I feel like I can't write so that I can still update. I hope you understand that things are hard for me and may be the reason for missed updates.
RIP Grandpa x :'(
HOWEVER- Soon Two Shoes (my other fic, check it out) will be finished and I won't start the sequel until this is over which means *drum roll please*, I could possibly update once a week! Whoop! But I do have exams so I'll stick with every two weeks normally with updates each week when I have the time. YAY!
Here we go, here's the explanation (recap of last chapter in italic)

Nathan's POV:
"It's the council... They're trying to bring down the dark clans and they're using Lili to do it."
"Tom what are you talking about? I don't understand." I admitted, I was confused and I was beginning to panic, I had never meant to put Lili in any danger and it seems as if all I'm doing is putting her in bad situations. Ever since I was turned, my attention was focused on my control rather than my vampire education. The majority of young vampires start off doing lots of training and gradually do less of training and start doing more and more learning where as I never really did the vampire school thing. I understand why considering I couldn't be in the range of a human without losing it but Tom could hardly expect me to know what's going on.
"Of course you don't." Tom snapped, he has always found my lack of knowledge irritating when they were having a meeting or something and I didn't understand so they'd have to explain all the history elements before the actual meeting could begin which was rather time consuming. His facial expression was stern and hard but it faded away quickly since he remembered that it wasn't my fault that I didn't understand.
"Don't take your anger out on me! I need to get back, I don't have much time, please explain this to me. I can't help Lili if you don't." I pleaded. Tom seemed very serious and the situation was urgent so in my mind it would be wise to explain efficiently now. At first he seemed reluctant but I could tell my reasoning was getting him to him and he eventually became submissive.
"Alright! Alright... The Council is made up of these creatures, mutants really, called the Balance. They are ancient vampires, some say the original ones but there's no evidence of that. However something went wrong when they were vampires that caused them to become creatures of higher importance. Legend states that Heaven and Hell decided to create creatures who belong equally to Heaven and Hell however that is legend so no one is too sure as to how they came to be. They were given the capabilities to determine where a vampire's soul lied. The aim was to create unbiased creatures that would prevent war and conserve peace between the Light and the Dark.
However, rumour has it that things have changed. There have been whisperings that the Balance are no longer equally owned by Heaven and Hell, it's like the balance has been tipped. You know that if a HD is in the wrong type of clan then it could lead to the obliteration of that clan. It is a possibility that the Balance are trying to get rid of the dark clans by sending in a HD. HD's are rare so as soon as Lili came along, their plan was put into action in hope that Lili could destroy one of the dark clans. Well that's the rumour anyway... I do believe that it is true, all the pieces fit together and there was a prophesy a few years back that stated that 'the pull of Heaven will lead to hell on earth'." Tom explained. It seemed like an awfully large amount of information to process in a small space of time. I could see out of the corner of my eye the boys looking gobsmacked and shocked. It became clear that Tom wasn't as much of an open book as everyone thought. It took a moment for the panic to set in and for me to realise that Lili was not safe and then I realised that by me leaving her, she was unprotected and vulnerable.
